A spin-off of Final Fantasy 7 is in the works.
Its called Durge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII.
It looks like it stars Vincent my favorite FF7 character.

Yeah, this has been announced for awhile. I saw some footage as well. I mean, I loved FF7, I mean, hardcore love we're talking about here. But, why can't Square just give us a friggen sequel in RPG form. Is it that hard?

I almost prefer it this way. That random battle crap just dosent cut it for me anymore with new games. I hope its either like Fable with guns or like Devil May Cry or maybe something completely new but Square isnt exactly good in that department they tend to stick to tried-and-true gaming mechanics at least 75% of the time.

Well, I wish square would drop Final Fantasy VII. The game wasn't that good at all. I think people just liked it because everything about that game was simple. The simple story, the gameplay, the monsters; even the last bosses. There are only two hard enemies in the whole game. Anyways, Square needs to develope a new and innovative RPG. I'm bored to tears with all the same Final Fantasy CRAP. I think they are moving in the right direction with Dirge of Cerebrus; even though it is a Final Fantasy spinoff.

old news...i dont know if this is true but someone told me this has been out in japan for a while now and news is just leaking over to usa now...i doubt it has any substance to it but thought i'd mention it

DEFFINATELY has NOT been out in Japan. The game would have leaked all over the internet by now. I can't wait for this title to come out. I'm not a huge fan of all "squanix" games, but FFVII?... I'm one of those hardcore obsessive fans (minus the posters in my bedroom)

i always thought vincent was the coolest character in that game. if its anything like devil may cry with more rpg elements that would kick ass

I think that the plan for the game is to make it a FPS.
I'm not sure what to think of this game myself, I'd much rather Square stop milking the FF7 name and just make a true sequel.
