View Full Version : Flack's Tribute to Columbus Day

In fourteen-hundred and ninety-two,
Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
But in the year two-thousand and four,
Flack decided to sail some more!

To honor Columbus in an all new way,
I declared it National Game Hunting Day.
I got me some money, and hopped in my car,
and set out on a search for treasure afar.

On this chilly day, I tried to keep warma,
by finding a seven dollar Macintosh Performa!
I passed on the Mac, but then found a deal,
A fifty-cent copy of Blades of Steel!

As I keep looking, another stroke of luck -
A Super Scope 6, for only a buck!
It was found in a pile, among 20 others,
a big pile of Super Mario Brothers.

Copies of King's Quest, numbers one, two and three,
Three dollars apiece, too bad they weren't free.
The Fate of Atlantis, starring Indiana Jones,
could have been mine for the price of 10 bones.

MechAssault, Baseball, and a Zelda game too,
Ten dollars for each one? That simply won't do.
On this fine holiday, the games were a-plenty,
like a Playstation 2, marked down to one-twenty.

I kept finding deals, like right next to the door
I found a controller for the N64.
More shelves lie behind me, so I gave a whirl,
and for another five I found me a Toejam and Earl.

So although I didn't have a boat or a map,
I spent a little money and bought me some crap.
So to all you collectors, all I have to say,
Is I hope you have a wonderful Game Hunting Day!

I had a different assignment today in another county
While there I saw a small video store and went in looking for some bounty.
As I walked in on a shelf near the floor .. nes carts!!

I decided to get CIB Batman Beyond: Return of the joker and CIB Deadly arts.
I had to go to work I couldn't stay
So for those and a Mint copy of PS1 Dark Stone $15.00 I did pay

You are a better poet than I Flack...... But I tried :)

I forgot to mention -- while digging through the vinyl records, I fingally discovered where Club Ninja got his alias from.

Excellent work ;)

I've actually had multiple NECG people bring me copies of the album on vinyl and cassette as they find them during their flea/thrift adventures. Considering that I already had it on vinyl and CD previously, I now have eight different copies in various forms!

I could care less about that perpetual denier of facts, Columbus, but the bit about the Performa kept me going. Very nice! :D

Donut fret -- I searched for all of us.

And at the end, I went into a Pawn Shop and claimed their store in the name of Digital Press.

What on earth is "Silent Scope 6" for the SNES? Do you mean super scope six?

Yesterday found me thrifting on a lark
and I scrounged a copy of N64 "South Park".
But another good find meant my shopping wasn't done,
so two dollars more netted me SNES "Shadowrun".

(Flack's poem is better, but I had to to try).

On this Columbus day I left EB quite blue
They were sold out of the $5 copies of the Hobbit for PS2

But the trip to the store was not completely lame
For I did pick up a cheap ass copy of the second Max Payne :)
