Looking for feedback from the classic gaming community on our new site www.J2GAMES.com. We recently opened shop and are looking to cater to the classic gaming community and collectors looking for games, system and accessories from the everyday to the rare or prototype.
We have been building the inventory (approx 6000 items) and handle systems from Atari to today. Sections on games, systems, accessories, manuals, joystick overlays and classic magazines (mags are listed but still in production.)
Please help us make your experience the best it can be. Good honest feedback, good bad or ugly would be greatly appreciated!

Site looks good and you have great ebay feedback. Prices are reasonable.
I hope you do well.

Hope you enjoy looking through the site and thanks again for supplying feedback!

My only suggestion right now is work on the pictures. The angle shot doesn't do much good, I know the flash is tough to deal with. :D Maybe scan them or find images available on the net.
I didn't check close, but do you show how you rate games conditions? That may be helpful to folks like me (since I saw a few games I need).

The ratings for game Rarity is easily accessible through a link on the front page (top right hand corner) and to anyone familiar with DP will know the ratings right away.
As far as game condition, if it is remotely dented, beaten up, label peeling, etc, I send them right to Ebay in bulk sales.
All items on the site are listed as Good, Excellent or NIB condition.
Hope that clarifies and thanks for the feedback on the pics (you're right, they are a pain to make them look nice.)

Well it's a nice site.
But Dang those N64 prices. @_@
$7.99 for those R1 sports games ?

Thanks for more feedback. As far as N64 prices, it's a tough one.. it's not easy getting games for that at a low enough price to offer them much lower on the site (seems I can find a million copies of preplayed Movie Rental company versions, but they have stickers and writing all over them!)
Sign up for a memebership and in the next week we will be sending out a discount coupon off your first order, might make those prices a little more reasonable!

Hey I just noticed you're in Atlanta.
I just moved to the Pine Mountain , Callaway area.
Maybe we could get together and get some local Retro Expo's started.

Feel free to contact me directly (go through the website.) The idea you have is ABSOLUTELY AWSOME and I have been getting pressure to move this business idea into a full brick and mortar setup. Any Expo could be a great start! Would love to exchange ideas....
anyone else have an interest or feedback/ideas?

Not bad not bad. I really like the layout. I will keep you bookmarked. A site by people who know what they are selling should do well. Beats scrounging yard sales, and the "old stuff bin" at ebgames.
One thing I might change is requiring a phone number to sign up for membership... I might be wierd, but I hate giving my number out.
Good luck!

A little more organization in the manual section would be nice as well. Definately a good site going though.

About what percentage of DP Guide's prices do you buy games for? Or does it not work like that?
I have some semi-rares that I would llike to unload hassle-free.

One other thing I thought about today while looking at your site.
How about seperating the games and hardware / controllers ?
Just a thought ;)

Just dropping another note to say great site. You'll be getting my business soon.
As far as payment goes, will you be accepting Paypal for the site as well? I see that you are set up for Paypal on EBay.

the site set up was very easy to navigate, also this just a suggestion...if you want to expand your invertory and rare game collection (this is only a suggestion)-set up a booth/stall at a local flea market(find the busiest one)it might start out slow but in a few months ( you'll be able to get more exposure , there are 100's of people going throught the markets everyweekend) also when people begin to bring in their old games into the market to trade with venders( thats where the goodies usually come in with a pile of misc games/collection) usually some people are trying to get rid of there childhood collection , of coarse they'll bring it to the first person that they see@ the markets , just make suer to have a big sign that saids(BUY+SELL+TRADE) haha. Pick a busy market to set one up at ,and in a years time you'll gurantee to have a great collecton... thanks and good luck !!

Initially, I hadn't considered PayPal as an option for collecting Payments for www.J2Games.com. (although I do use it for Ebay just out of ease!)
I will have to research further, the unfortunate part of PayPal are the fees that are charged vs the credit card processing fees I pay for the site. Honestly, I worry that if I took PayPal as a regular function, I might have to adjust prices slightly to compensate. (and I want this site to stay realistiic with prices as you collectors know the real value of these games.)
I'll do my homework.
In the meantime, if PayPal is the only means of payment you can make, contact me via PM and we can discuss.
Thanks for the continued feedback! J2Game.com

Cool products, but I can make out that the manual in Operation Wolf has some torn and worn bits, and looks dirty...and for other SMS games where a manual is listed it's not shown.

Thanks for the feedback! We are actually working on updating the pics across the site. The original pics were blurry and not to my satisfaction (and not truely representative of what we carry.)
The manuals section is also being updated (set for tomorrow actually!) We are adjusting the inventory numbers and double checking the descriptions.
Initially, I thought to carry all conditions of games and accessories. But looking through inventory, space considerations, and the market we ultimately wanted to appeal to, we decided that ONLY Excellent to MINT to NIB would be carried on the site. (so, no noteable scratches, dings, creases, rips, etc.)
Hope that clarifies and thanks agin for the feedback!

Just saw your site. Looks pretty good, i'll be getting some games soon.
The only thing I would suggest would be to maybe alphabatize the lists of games by title ... makes looking through them for that one title a little easier.

I second that. Also, I'd like to suggest separating the manuals by system.
Cool site!

Okay, I don't know what you had in mind for the manuals, but it would be nice to have them divided by system as well.
Also, depending on how savvy you are, it would be great if you could put in a feature that allows users to see what you have gotten in stock since their last visit.
EDIT : OOPS! Looks like you may have the second feature already in place and I'm a doofus. :P
