Phew, I think this is the 5th time maybe this has been posted. Quite amazing yes, and for just a bunch of loose systems I think the guy made out VERY well.

Yeah, I didn't see the end price though, that's fuckin sick. there are NO games, and (without really looking) NOTHING rare.
That's $40 PER SYSTEM. That's just STUPID, there's no way the winner is going to pay that much. I was thinking about $3,000-$4,000 for that auction, but didn't want to pay shipping charges (obviously)
He's gonna be real let down if/when he re-lists.

Yep, seen it plenty of times. I'm not that impressed by it.

Why keep the UserID private? The only explanation is so you can shill without anyone knowing. I know a way of doing it with no way of ebay knowing if you keep the UserID private. Never bid on a Private auction unless you snipe... trust me.

lots of auctions like that are private, most likely so the winner doesn't get 500 e-mails asking for a cheap genesis.

I think it's stupid to keep their user ID's private too. If they have that much money to throw around, then they should have to show themselves, dammit!

Promophile, just because it's a private auction doesn't mean that EBAY can't see the bidder's ID, that's kinda dumb. It's also pretty pointless to try shill bidding on ebay anymore since you can't retract OR cancel bids within a certain amount of time left in the auction.
Auctions are kept private so you don't get BOMBARDED with losers e-mailing you. I bid on a hockey team worth like 1.7 million (or was it 17 million?) once and I got shitloads of e-mails. I actually made it on the news too, heh. I only bid because there was a reserve and I knew I wouldn't hit it.

Wasn't professional, I think it was in alaska? Someone here might remember... Maybe it's in the search database still.

It does reduce the possibility of eVigilantes reporting you, and who's saying that eBay's a perfect score keeper? It would be worth it to create a second account, build it up, and use it to shill bid on just one auction of yours if we're talking about this much money. eBay acknowledges that it's hard to tell who's shill bidding and who isn't, since many folks (like me) tend to stick to certain categories and thus "suspiciously" might bid on auctions from certain sellers often.
I only bid because there was a reserve and I knew I wouldn't hit it.
Damn that takes balls, man. K:

Ah! I remember stumbling on a website the other week which said they were the ones who bought this bundle!
I can't remember what site it was though :(
I can't even remember what I typed into Google either.
