Just wondering how many of you people play multiple games at once? I recently got a 2nd television, and I found myself playing Virtua Tennis (DC), Everquest Online Adventures (Ps2), and Battlefield 1942 (PC) at the same time. I was killing monsters for loot on EQ,and while waiting on the monsters to re-spawn, playing tennis matches :)

I am looking to buy a laptop at the moment, so I can surf thet net while doing all of this! Too laid back? Maybe.. Fun? You betcha!

is there really a point to that other than having your machines run and wasting electricity?? you can really only play one at a time and all the other games are just sitting there or on pause

When you're waiting 15 minutes sometimes to get a match in Steel Battalion: LOC, it's not a bad thing to fire up Williams Arcade Classics on the Playstation (not that that's ever a bad thing) (the Williams Arcade Classics thing, that is, not the waiting 15 minutes thing).

If you've played a lot of MMO's you know that you can either get some serious novels read while playing... or play another game that's not on a timer (turn based RPGs, TBS, etc.)

Another way is if you're playing RPG's with such dull turn based combat that you can either mindless mash one button and win (Legend of Legaia comes to mind) or you set up entire turns beforehand (All Phantasy Stars, FF1-3, Lunar, etc.) then you can get SOMETHING done while you wait, be it another game or reading, homework, etc.

I play 2 characters at the same time in FFXI. One on my laptop, and other on my gaming computer. Thats only if my wife is using her computer and not mine, but ugh most times shes on one of mine. I love it. Im almost inclined in putting my other computer on my desk again with another LCD monitor and then I can play on 3 computers at once!

I suppose that if I found a game so boring I was playiong something else at the same time, I'd probably just stop playing the first one altogether.

I agree with you - what a great game this is that I payed 50 bucks for and I need to read the novel from the romance section of the super market in order to enjoy the game. LAMEtastic.

If the game you are playing is not fun, then go outside! Hello World!

Hmm. That gives me an idea - I'm sure we've all played a 2-player lightgun game with a gun in each hand, but how about 2 seperate lightgun games on 2 screens with a gun in each hand? Pretty intense, I'd imagine ;)

After I set up a HOTD / HOTD2 game(s) I'll let you know how it goes. @_@

Who am I kidding. I have the tools, but not the skills. I can barely play one of those at a time. :embarrassed:

"Slow-paced" does not necessarily equal "not fun"

I play FFXI too, so I'm definatley able to play more than one game at a time. I'll usually play another turn-based RPG on my PS2 while I'm playing FFXI on PC. It's easy to grab another controller while doing a lot of FFXI tasks. Hell, I play a melee character, so when I'm building up my weaponskill points, I can do a lot of other stuff. :)

I did try playing Donkey Konga last night at the same time as FFXI -- that didn't work out so well. Oops.

I taught myself to play halo with my feet. I played around 20 matches before I got tired. My feet actually won about 6 times! LOL

for people who play MMORPG games, this is pretty common to play other games while waiting on a monster to spawn.

some say "go outside", but, if your waiting on a monster to spawn, if you leave it could spawn and another player could grab it and kill it by the time you get back, so you can just keep yourself busy on your GBA and occasionally look up. nifty.

Sometimes with games where you can do auto battles -- the Lunar games, the Lagaia games, etc. -- or where I'm playing a slow paced online PC games with friends and waiting for turns to come in or for other people to finish -- I'll go play something else at the same time. Usually something light that I can pick up and then put down.

I fail miserably trying ot do it with RPG's, but I'm doing it with 16-bit platformers and seem to be doing allright.

Playing Sonic 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. Interesting how they all work differently
