damn, I watched these sit at EVERY store for what, a year? I think they went down to $20 each at target and I still didn't pick them up.

Low supply, coupled with intrest from the movie sure drove up the prices. I'm sure we'll see the prices steadily drop down to reasonable levels until the DVD of Apocalypse is released.

I think there have been a couple of threads about this, but yeah, the prices are ridiculous. I just recently bought a RE 3 sealed from Gamecrazy for $29.99 and I found a "new" RE 2 at Gamestop for the same price. It was a display copy though, so it was opened, and the disc already has a couple of scratches in it. Nothing major, but it would be to have one absolutely mint with no blemishes. I figure if they're going to be Cube rarities later on, might as well grab them now while a couple of stores still have 'em.

I also have a sealed copy of Code Veronica X for Gamecube (from the $5 CC sale), although the value isn't anywhere near 2 or 3. I think I asked about this in a previous thread, but never got an answer. Why is Code Veronica X worth less? Were more copies pressed? It seems like 2 is the most expensive out of the series right now - did Capcom print less of 2 than of 3 and CV:X because 2 appeared on N64? It's perplexing, I'd love to know what's going on here. Hell, a local Best Buy still has 4 sealed copies of Code Veronica X, they'd be a nice pick-up if I suspected they'd skyrocket in value like 2 and 3....

I believe so (in that CVX had more copies produced and were sold as many people didn't get to play it by it being on the DC initially). Certainly it was the only title in the series I hadn't played before when all 3 were GC bound (I'd played RE2 and RE3 on the PS1). It's all theory of course, there was one article on IGN saying roughly what the sales figures were but that was quite a while ago.

I also have the Gamecube combo strategy guide for the games. I'd be curious to see what the fools would pay for that set.

Yeah I've seen the price of that, with RE2 and 3 sold for $123+ tops

I made a thread about this a while back, and yeah it's no big surprise, apparently what I learned last time, was Capcom only made 70,000 copies of each

Yeah, I remember them at the stores. Wish I would have got them then. I have all the RE's but #2 and 3 for the GC. #2 is my fav. one by far though, well at least until RE4 comes out. That's just looks like it's going to kill it. I also LOVE the new over the shoulder view. The camera position is one thing I can't stand in RE games.

Me too. I don't think I've ever even been in a Target before. I really want a sealed RE 2 to tuck away in my collection, though I wouldn't mind buying a couple extra to sell off.
