Personally, the area in which I play my games is sort of a mess, controllers from different systems sprawled out, food crumbs on the floor, which I am actually about to finally sweep up, and a dreamcast at my feet as I type this.
What about you folks?

mine's gotten better...i no longer keep game systems on the floor...tho the controllers are all over the place. (when they aren't put away, like right now).
my bedroom is my gameroom, and there's beer bottles and ashes all over the place...although i generally keep them a good 3 feet away from the tv/systems/stereo. i'm very cramped.

My game room is the finished portion of the attic, and I've got the systems and games on racks. While the console rack has a rat's nest of wiring hanging down the backside, the only floor mess is from controllers that I've lazily thrown down after gaming sessions. And I think I need to empty out the trash can because there's some sort of unsavory stale beer smell beginning to develop up here...
Pretty clean for a game room. Every system and controller in uts' place. And only a few boxes for display.

Mine is usually a mess. There are always cups and empty soda cans on the table, and some food wrappers on the floor. I try and keep it as clean as I can though. There are usually controllers and stuff waiting to be put away also.

Let me put it this way. I haven't taken any Room of Doom pics yet. Down the road soon I hope to get it organized and presentable.
Last Tuesday it had half an inch of water came flooding in due to some freak rains and a door not completely shut (I know what you're thinking: Flooding in New Mexico O_O ? That's what I thought, too). Luckily all my stuff was on high shelves or in my trusty Rubbermaid tubs.
One day soon it will be the room I always wanted it to be. For now though I'm too :embarrassed:

i just recently "cleaned" it. well maybe cleaned isnt the right word, it was never dirty. i would call it more of an organization.

Mine is a mess in the sense that all the wires are spider-webbed behind the tv, but I plan to tie them all up soon. Other than that my entertainment area, like my computers are neat and clean. I dust just about everyday, dirt and debris can be a killer of electronics.

My game room is also my bedroom. I have Genesis,PS, DC GCN, Xbox,SNES, NES and N64 all ready to be played. Any hookups/controllers i could need are under my bed in tupperware or in its boxes "displayed". Right now i have PS controller, NES controller, Lightgun and NES Advantage sitting out.
To me it is pretty clean but some people agree others don't.
Stuff moves around almost daily so it is an ever changing environment. I like it. :)
Just need to get a bigger room. ;)

I just moved into my new place and set up my new game room so it is immaculate at this point in time. I usually am pretty uptight about keeping my games organized, in their place on the shelf, and such. The only things that ever really get messy are the empty pop cans on my coffee table and the controllers that stretch down from my entertainment center. I do usually clean it every few days so it never gets bad. Hopefully I'm going to take pics of the new room and throw them up here by Thanksgiving.

mine is meticulously clean....i am a neat freak with every aspect of my life, so why should my gaming stuff be any different....controllers are always kept wrapped up and stored, games always in their cases and on sheleves, and nothing is ever out of place
It has to be neat. I am an organized neat freak, to say the least.

I promise mine is messier than anyone else's on this forum right now.
Reason? I plan to paint my game room this weekend, so there's stuff strung all the way down the hall and everything else. It's messier than it's ever been.
But once it's done, it'll be as clean as humanly possible.

Just about sums me up. My game room like some other people here acts as my bedroom also, so I vacuum, sweap and keep everythinh on shelfs. I have found that by keeping your room neat and organized that your games will always be in good condition.

clean and orderly!
its often the tidiest room in the house, the one room where everything has a place. guests often remark upon it, i may crazy but at least i'm organized. thinking of new ways to display and incorperate new items into my room occupies as much of my time as playing and hunting do.

To be honest, I think that's a good deal of the fun.
My room(which doubles as a bedroom) isn't always neat, but there is some semblance of organization. Controllers are almost always stewn across the floor, and the games that I've most recently played are usually stacked up near the system.
Worst thing is pop cans. They're everywhere. Especially my computer desk. x_x

In general my place is pretty neat. Though, I have to say after a sesh with my pals or if I have just had a marathon with a new game the place gets to be a bit of a mess! My games stuff is all over the house - I stay on my own with my girlfriend staying maybe twice a week so the place can fall apart pretty damn quick! I have my PC in it's own small room (always messy!), my current generation (inc. my DC) in the livingroom hooked up to the widescreen telly and surround sound hifi and my other consoles hooked up in the bedromm to my 21" TV and stereo. So sometimes I 'haunt' a certain part of the house for days at a time - it can get pretty scarey! :eek 2:

Organized Chaos.
See I know where everything is, and why things are in certain piles, but in all honesty, my Playroom is a storage facility for the time being. I cant do much but inch my way in there right now. I dont play games in there (as the chair id be sitting in has stuff on it) and the door stays closed much of the time. Im in the process of trying to get new racks made/built that will house my stuff, and once that starts to take shape then the room will look a whole hell of a lot better.

Same here...spoken like a true German. :)
My game room is very clean and well-organized. I never had a system on the floor, the controllers are all together behind glass; the games are on the shelves in a straight line, no game is upside down, the titles on the side of the boxes are facing in the same direction, the guides are ordered alphabetically, the magazines are ordered chronologically. (I'm an anal retentive nutcase)
With electronics you have to be careful and keep it clean. My NES from 89 works like a charm like it did the day I bought it, the same goes for the controllers although they were used a LOT. If you take good care of stuff, it pays off in the long-run.

Mine is clean on Sundays, then little by little it gets messier during the week. Come Saturday, I'm tripping on stacks of magazines, games and unfinished projects so I have no choice but to organize it all.
I wouldn't call my room dirty as I keep my consoles and especially controllers super clean, it just gets messy at times.

My gameroom is also my bedroom, well at least until I move into my own house and I then plan on having a big gameroom.
My room is usually always clean. I never have any controllers out and ALL games are put away when I am done using them. (It wasn't like that until about 2 years ago. There used to be controllers all over the place.)
So I try and keep everything spotless now.

I do it, too. The original wraps for controllers which came with a system are still in the system box, so I use wraps from other electronic devices for the controllers in my controller cabinet. If a dust prob can be easily avoided, why not avoid it? If I play every two or three months a NES game, I can accept the terrible time consuming work of 30secs to unwrap a controller and plug it in.
I always keep the original packaging of memory cards or for my replacement controllers. I have two factory sealed N64 memory cards, for the used ones still the boxes for it, and a N64 controller in the box, and two NES Advantage sticks and a Super NES Advantage all in boxes with original wrappings.
This neat vs. messy, orderly vs. disorderly tendency has nothing to do with the enthusiasm for games. :) It is big bad genes and one of the mysteries of the universe. If you are orderly or disorderly as a child, you'll be as an adult.
Everyone who lives with someone with the opposite tendency knows there is NOTHING which can change it. NOTHING!! It creates little fights, it is a waste of time, and you have to compromise.
As a 7 year old I kept my comics in chronological order in one place, my two older brothers picked them up and they were all over the place which drove me crazy. I'm still the same, my brothers are still the same. I'm as orderly as my mother was, and my two brothers are exactly as messy as my father was.

Not necessarily. o_O I had a HORRIBLY messy bedroom for most of my childhood. The only time it was clean was when my mom cleaned it (which sort of stopped once I got to around 6 or 7...). Now I'm pretty tidy. Although, I think it's more obsessive-compulisive organizing than actual cleanliness. O_o When I was a kid, I would only take one crayon out of the box at a time because they had to ALWAYS be in the exact same order...

A combination of these describe my room quite well.
It gets dirty but the mess is (almost) never videogame stuff. Clothes, school stuff and computer parts generally make up my mess.

Well, to add to my post, the only area of my gaming..eh, area that is organized are the games boxed up and put neatly in my closet. I have a bad habit of boxing everything up I'm not using, then never getting around to playing it/touching it ever again. :(

Clean or Dirty? Well, not really dirty, just a total mess would best describe it. I have stacks of carts, boxes, systems, magazines, and other junk all over the place. I don't mind it too much, but if I ever trip and fall, I'll probably hurt myself really bad!

I play most of my games on consoles on the living room tv, so it tends to be kept tidy (at the wife's "request" :)). My office where I PC game and where I store my stuff is "clean" but "cluttered". That's where you find the extra controllers tossed everywhere, carts awaiting some sort of formal storage space like shelving, as well as various stacks of magazines, posters, or other gaming miscellany.

LOL Exactly. I have always told everyone my room is an "organized mess". Although it sounds oxymoronic, its quite an accurate description. The wires, especially, have gone out of control. There's just SO much in my small 10' X 12' room, i'm glad that I have a bunk bed to put stuff up there.
Hopefully, however, I will be moving out into my own small house soon. Oh joy! The planning of my House of Doom is a project I am very much enjoying! :D

While it is usually quite clean, a weekend gaming session, pizza delivery and a 12 pack of Diet Dew and come Sunday there might even be some boxers on the ground in the living room.
My room is pretty organized for the most part, but usually during the school week I've got stuff accumulating on the floor like books, game controllers, Mountain Dew cans, and wrappers.

Mine is still in flux. It's actually the Multimedia room, with the PC, stereo, cd rack, records rack, entertainment center, and game shelves. But now the computer is coming out, so I haven't hung anything up yet. Plus we don't have an extra TV for the entertainment center, and the systems are still packed up for the most part. However, the games are organized nicely on bookshelves, and a timeline of boxed systems are on top. So it's still pretty messy, but it will get there someday. My wife and I would like to host a party whenever that happens, kind of like Jersey Classic. As long as you don't mind cats. Lots of cats.

Mine is very neat and clean. I'm sort of obsessive cumpulsive about my gameroom. Every game is in alphabetical order by system. Every controller is put away with wire wraps to hold the wires in place. Every system is on the shelf in order. When I am done playing with a game and system I put everything away immedtiately.
I also hate dust, so I dust about twice a week
If I don't keep my gameroom like this it really starts to bother me :(
One good thing about keeping my room like this is that I can tell immedtiately is something is missing or has been moved :D
