Just a heads up, If you're reading this, I'm sure you know paypal's been having issues for a couple days. Looks like everything is back up and running, BUT...

I just checked around, and 25 people paid me through paypal, but I never received payment notification e-mails. For most people, it's fairly easy to see if someone has paid you or not, but with over 100 payments in the past 2-3 days, finding 25 missing ones is pretty friggin hard.

So, make sure you double check to see if people paid you!

Silly PayPal. They messed up their main page with pictures of consumer person models pretending to look like ordinary dumb people (that dude doing his best to make a second chin). I assumed that the causes are due to PayPal messing with their servers - and guess what, I'm right (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml).

Jesus himself better walk out of my PC screen when I go to use PayPal again, well, if I was mad that'd be what I'd expect anyhow.

Yea they've seriously messed up my sales this week.

I've had dozens of e-mails from people who couldn't pay for my stuff. :angry:

I'm thinking about calling Ebay and demanding a refund of the listing fees.

I got a payment 3 days ago that showed up on ebay but I just got the email today. And another item that has not been paid for yet, possibly due to paypal messing up.

Yep, messed me up too, I got no email notification at all for several sales. Luckily I'm still just a small scale operation right now, but if I was on a big scale, I'd be pissed. I'm glad they got it fixed in time for all my payments to go through though, because I wasn't gonna send a dime until it was fixed.

I usually have around 1500 auctions running at a time and this seems to happen a lot more regularly than you might think.

For the last year or so I have had to determine my Paypal receipts based on daily print-outs of the "history" screen, because I find at least one payment per day that I do not receive a message for...

This past week has been ridiculous though... :angry:

I've also come to the realization that NONE of the payments received related to my eBay "store" listings have had payment notifications sent for the last week or so...

Good to know about the store payments.

I have about 800 auctions per week running, and haven't ever noticed any missing payments personally. Might want to switch your e-mail server.

THIS week has been a bit rough though. I'm getting e-mails today from 2-3 days ago, and I'm still missing e-mails on some completely.

I started getting the notices from the last 5? or so days this morning...

Nice.. most of these have already been shipped out, so now I have to research them all a 2nd time...

I did receive notices for store payments this morning as well... so they just seem to have been caught up in Paypal's other problems.

As for changing email.. I changed in the spring for 2 reasons... 1. AOLers and Hotmail, Yahoo accounts generally do not receive my messages and don't seem to be savvy enough to be able to figure out what the spam folder is for... and 2. the service I had (DSL) was no longer available at my new address...

Since then, I am still having the same problem with the AOL and Hotmail users... and I can attribute the bulk of my neutral/negative feedback to simply not being able to get messages to these people...

Ugh, friggin tell me about it. You can add compuserve to the list of spam-folder-compudiots.

I was kind of expecting a payment tonight.
After I read this post, I went to my account
and the funds were there. No notification...
