What is the fastest you have beaten Super Mario 1 (with or w/o warping).

All following is with warps. I have been furiously trying the past 2 weeks to get my time down. At first I thought 7 minutes 30 seconds was pretty good, but soon realized I should be able to go under 7 minutes.

Last night I did it in 6:52, but I feel (am certain) it should be possible to go under 6:45.

I have never really timed myself, well at least on the game that many times, but the last time I did it it was about 1 year or 2 ago and if I remember right it was around 9 minutes. That's the fastest I could get, PATHETIC!

Actually, the world record is 5:10, verified by Twin Galaxies. Someone else on the TG forums claims to have a 5:9:8 score, but that's unverified at present.

there are always people that claim to have barely beat the high score. if they beat it, they would be fast to send in the time.

Is there one of those doctored-up speed runs available on SMB? That may give us the fastest POSSIBLE time...

Twin Galaxies records only real ones. Interestingly, this gives a very practical use to speed runs, other than entertainment.

Not quite true. He only claimed to beat the time by 2 milliseconds, which as far as I know, has never been tracked before (TG doesn't usually go below seconds as a second is usually small enough for one record to beat another). I believe he has been encouraged to send it in though, just for the sake of an even faster record.

Yeah, I saw that one before, actually the other day at school someone showed me.

Has anyone ever saw, which I don't know if it's the world record or not, this guy beat SMB3 in like 5-6 mins. It was so fucking crazy watching this. I need to find the link to the site.

that smb3 one wasn't real, itwas done using save states and emu-slowmo.

Here is a real smb3, smw and Mario 64 speed run. along with some fake runs.

That video was totally nuts. To see the numerous tricks used was insane. I am now hovering at 6 minutes after seeing his paths, but I still slow down for some of the pipes. INSANE!! Thanks for the links to the videos
