Favorite/Most Hated Mortal Kombat Game

With MK: Deception just being released and the arcade versions of 1 and 2 out on Midway Arcade Treasures, I figured there would be people all over Mortal Kombat like I am.

My Fav: Mortal Kombat 4

reason: It is the only mk game I got good enough at to beat on the hardest setting. I did it on n64, but even still.

Hated: Mortal Kombat 3

reason: I played this on SNES and Genesis. On Genesis, even on the easiest setting, it was super hard, but on SNES, it was easy on the easiest setting. I didn't like that one bit. I also felt they started straying away too much with the combos. They eventually ended up being cool, but my initial thought was that they just made the game that much harder when the computer not only does crazy super moves on you, but now does crazy combos on you.

I actually enjoyed Mythologies: Sub Zero. It still had a very Mortal Kombat-esque theme to it. I never played special forces, but was told it strayed away from mk way, way too much.

Let me know if I missed a game, I am going to try and get them all.

It doesn't have to be the arcade version, or it can, I don't care.

only really liked the first 2 but the second was better because it had more characters and fatalities, and it didn't go overkill on the ailities.(yeah animality just pushed it overboard).

I like this series a lot, been playing it since I had my genesis. My favorite incarnation is MK Trilogy. I played this game on the N64 ALL the TIME. I think it's the best version cause it's on a cart.

Seriously, MKII will always be my favorite, but Deadly Alliance would place second, with the original as a close third.

i didnt play them all, but of the ones i played, i always love MK III....i had it for my genesis and i was always partial of the great animalities, babalities, friendships, etc....

Most fav is UMK3 followed closely by Deception now. Everything else was good to. I'm just a huge MK fan though. UMK3 was my fav because it had so many cool characters. I love(d) Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot, Rain Reptile, Smoke, Cyrax, Sektor, Ermac and Kabal.
This has nothing to do with the topic but MK series is the most indepth fighter ever created. It has a spectacular storyline.

The first looked ok but didnt feel right. The second had more charcters I liked and felt better. By the time MK 3 came out i just didnt care.

BTW, this poll is the same as the one on gamefaq. Odd.

2 is still one my favorites- most balanced and added alot to the first one without bogging it down.

MKII was the best game.

But MKI was my favorite.

"Special Forces" and "Mythologies: Sub Zero" were awful.

MK2 was the highlight of the series, with much improved graphics and gameplay over the original... when MK3 came out though, it just ruined things with lame fatalities and even more cheapness than was already there (like Kabal's run move... damn that was annoying). I'd have to say that I was most disappointed with MK4 though... the move to 3D did absolutely NOTHING to fix the problems in the series... they basically too everything that made MK3 crappy and made it 3D and nothing more.

MK sub zero was a poor excuse for a game. I hated it then, and i hate it now. My favorite would deffinately be MKII!

My fave is Deadly Alliance, the only one I've been able to play for an extended period of time. I'm not a big-time MK player, and there's one thing I don't like about the entire series: the "Block" button. Maybe I was just spoiled by Street Fighter II or SNK fighters or something.

MK II is my fave. To me it had the best comibination of characters and moves. Didn't like UMKIII that much, but I did like the brutalities, man those were hard.

It was not that bad. If you are a MK fan it is worth a play thru.


What's Deception's storyline anyhow this time around?
Deception continues the story line from Deadly Allinace among a few otehr games from the Series.
Reptiles' body was taken over by the Dragon King at the end of DA. There are allainces between good and evil people. Just like in the old ones good people and evil people are after evil but in this one it is good against good in some cases too.
I am usually on top of all things MK, but so far everywhere i go there is something that conflicts with something else. Even the some stuff on the official website conflicts with what is in the manua;
