I distinctly remember a version of this in BBS "door game" form. If any of you youngsters remember that sort of thing. ;)

I like how someone did start a topic on this.... LOL
Anyways, I was introduced to this fine text game in high school when the school gave out graphing calculators to everyone taking certain math classes. Playing this was much better than paying attention in class. Great time killer, although I probably wouldn't be very inclined to play it outside of a boring classroom setting.

Well much like the one I posted in the other thread, here is the original text game from 1984, which works fine in WinXP and Win2K.

I remember having it for my calculator. But the game I played during Trig the most was SMB3 and Galaxian.

Which calculator has SMB3?
Chris
TI83. It only has six stages or so, and it got very easy after playing it for day upon day.

Ahh, this game rocks. I play it on my TI-83 in class when I have nothing to do, it usually gathers a crowd around.

My TI-86 had it and a bunch of other games. A marble jumping game, a bunch of Mario games and a Mario level editor, Boulder Dash, and Escape (text based). Most were fun but I wouldn't play them outside of Math or Chemistry.

Damn! I wish I knew about SMB for the Ti-83 when I was in High School. Life would have been even more fun, heh.

Not really. Believe me, I played them in Trig and Chemistry, but the games themselves were awefull too, just not as bad as the classes I was in. I really could not get into Drug Wars at all, though it seemed to be popular among my friends.
