Sorry to bring back an old dead thread, I was searching for threads referring to Nester Bowling. I just found a sealed copy of the game today at a local shop. Any idea what the going rate would be?

That sounds about right. Also, to answer your other question, Nester's Funky Bowling is rare, but not the rarest VB bowling game. That would go to Virtual Bowling, which is somewhere in the $350-$500 price range.

nice lot
although the seller appears to not be able to count

* A Complete Collection of Virtual Boy Games Released in the USA (13 total)

there are 14 virtual boy games. He has them all listed. However, he says he only has 13.

I almost have 2 complete Virtual Boy collections. Maybe I should sell one off if its getting this price @_@ @_@

I'm not up on my Virtualboy collecting and thought that Nester's may have been the rare one. Oh well, I'ts still a game that I didn't have before.

Thanks for the reply.

Virtual Bowling is a Japanese game. It's also far from the rarest VB game. That would probably be Insmouse No Yakata, one of the few third party games for the VB. The most expensive is SD Gundam Dimension War, which I've seen over $800.

Isnt virtual lab the rarest VB game ?

If it's not Insmouse, it's probably Virtual Lab. It's really all conjecture since we obviously don't have any real data anyway.

Although no one has ever produced exact figures about the numbers of each game produced, there are definitely degrees of rarity for the various Virtual Boy games which have been repeatedly reaffirmed on Ebay, and within the Virtual Boy fan community. Insmouse does not appear to be as rare, and commands nowhere near the price of a Virtual Bowling. The article in the February 2003 Tips & Tricks is the best rarity guide I've seen for the VB, even better than the Digital Press Advance guide, really.
Out of the 8 VB games unique to Japan, on a rarity scale of 1-10
V-Tetris is a 2 (this was actually sold at one point in the US at stores like EB to clear out excess Japanese inventory)
Virtual Fishing is a 5 or 6
Space Squash and Insmouse are 7s
Space Invaders and Virtual Lab are 8s
SD Gundam and Virtual Bowling are 9s. Sometimes one will go for more than the other. Both have sold for ridiculous amounts at one time or another.
Having said all this, I've noticed a lot more Virtual Bowlings and SD Gundams on Ebay in the last year or two, so I suppose it's possible there are uncirculated supplies of them in Japan and some savvy dealer is slowly trickling them out, and raking in big profits from it.
