Take a train then a taxi to Joe's place or something. Bus maybe? There isn't much going on in NY as for gaming events.

There's this (http://www.gameonny.com) going on this weekend. But I heard it sucked. Seriously, there's not much that happens in NYC. Perhaps you yourself can set something up?

It did suck. I went there yesterday and was completely bored out of my mind. I was in and out in less than an hour.

FYI our boston meets are 100% public transit accessible, we're a block away from the commuter rail and subway. in all seriousness we have had people take the cheapo chinatown bus from NYC to Southstation boston, its totally do-able, just requires a little travel time. no private cars or taxis required :)

What was the general cause of said "suckiness" ? I know that its been sorta hyped for a while, I'm surprised to hear it fell THAT flat on its face.....what was wrong?? Too much emphasis on multiplayer PC games and sports titles?

Too much emphasis on things other than games.

It really wasn't even a gamer event, even if it was hyped up to be one. Only an XBox presence, and a mediocre sized one at that. It seems they tacked on the games just because they could. Overall, a really dull show, games aside.
