What I want to know is how Nintendo got its name on the packaging of some other company's game? Especially since they didn't own the trademark yet. You know.

I believe it is for the Atari counsel.

Afraid not. That big "APPLE II" in the corner of the box makes me think it may be for the uhhh, Apple II.

You'd think he'd remember owning that Apple II, since he's been sitting on this for 20 years.

I still have loads of games I got as a kid that I refused to open. Because even at 10, I knew I could retire at 30 with the profits they would bring in the future. LOL

nintendo never bought out the donkey kong trademark.

nintendo created donkey kong, specifically Sigeru Miyamoto when the president asked him to creat a simple concept for an arcade game. this was Sigeru's first game created and the birth of mario. Nintendo published it for several systems before it launched it's own famicom.

I R NINTENDO GEEK

seriously though, info is from "game over" an excellent book about hte rise of nintendo into the electronics business. ~1980s to mid 1990s.

highly recommended read=]
