I'm getting used to the DC's funky-ish controller. When they first got the DC, did it take a while for anyone else to become used to it?

It definitely took me awhile. In fact, I went and bought one of those PS-to-DC adapters so I could use my PS1 controller on the DC.

That was a long time ago. The constant use of the DC and only having one of those adapters and commonly four players here meant I had to get used to it. And once I did, I never went back to using that adapter. I really love the DC controller now.

So using the adaptor is only works for regular PS1 controllers, not the dual shocks?

*Will buy a VMU to play Fur Fighters tommorrow*

The one I have supports the dual-shock too.

I like them, I think they're real comfy to hold. I guess the main thing was, I was used to playing Saturn and Megadrive before that though, and neither of those two systems have particularly ergonomic pads.

The DC pad just feels kinda "right"... a bit like the Saturn 3D pad, but a bit nicer.

I take it Babagges and EB store would hopefully have them.

I don't have a prob with the DC controller.I have had the system since launch and it has grown on me.

But what do you all like better, the 3D Saturn Controller or the DC controller?  :?

Dreamcast is one of my favorite controllers. It's so easy for me to use, but perhaps it's my small girly hands? Everything is perfectly in reach, and the shoulder buttons are very comfy for me. The D-Pad and Analog stick are in the right spot for me to reach easily.

After playing a few rounds of NBA Showtime (Go Nets!), I'm slowly growing into the DC controller.

Other assesorices to buy: 1 VMU, 1 extra controller, S-video cable (to hook into switch box) and maybe the PSX-DC adaptor.

Achi, find me on AIM later please?

I Like the DC controller too.

I love Driving games and I find the analogue triggers in conjunction with the stick work great.

In all honesty, I think I prefer the DC pad to the PS/PS2 pad but sometimes you need the 2 analogue sticks!

I think the DC pad is like a refined Saturn 3D pad...It feels nicer in the hands to me. I only use the Saturn 3D pad for nights. :D

Like so many before, it took me a while to get used to it, but I too like the DC controller. In fact, I like it better for THPS and THPS2 than either the PSX controller or the Xbox controller.

Only thing I don't like about it is that my hands get sweaty holding it. It's a pity they never made one of those airflo controllers for DC eh? (Then again maybe not)

How much total would the VMU, extra controller, PS-DC adaptor (if I got one) and S-video cable cost probably? I know the VMU and controller is little under $10 so far...

I exactly agree with what Achika said... I never had ANY problems "adapting" to the Dreamcast controller, it just felt good from the beginning. No reaching or stretching..

And then I put it in my hands.. ba da bump! Just kidding.
