I just saw this on AA and it looks really neat to me -- thought some of you guys might be interested too!
A26 MaxiCart is available, the A26 MaxiCart is a special Atari 2600 cartridge that allows loading games into it using a PC. The MaxiCart is a great tool if you just want to play Atari 2600 games or you can use it to develop and test your homebrew games. All that you need to do is connect the MaxiCart to a PC with a USB cable start the loader program and you are in business. For more information go to www.vgwiz.com
Once that arrives all I will need are some PlayMessiah wireless Atari sticks and I'll never need to get off the couch again!

Looks like a great piece of hardware. As a CC2 owner, I am waiting as well for the wireless 2600 controllers. All I have to do is wire up a catheter to my Lazyboy and I'm golden. :D

How much were the CC2's, and is there an advantage to owning one of those over this A26 thing?

I'm not sure on the price, but the CC2 worked for 7800 and 2600 games, and it used a compactflash card I believe (if not another similar medium) so you could store damn near every game on there nstead of loading them as you want them. Not a big difference IMO though.

I have a CC2 and it uses a Multimedia card (could be Secure digital...very similar media, so I forget). The CC2 is great, but it's a pain in the butt to get some demo roms to work because there's no script in place to tell it how to bankswitch and stuff. CC2 is one of the greatest products since the wheel, though. It's awesome....one 32MB card can safely hold every a2600 and 7800 game ever made with room to spare, plus you don't have to use a cable to connect it to your computer....just a card reader. I don't understand how to use a lot of the features of the CC2, but I know how to load games on it and that's what really counts.....I wish I could figure out how to get some of those insane demos on there tho...like those 3 marios...thos estill blow my mind.

Please forgive my stupidity.... I've been following the maxcart for awile and I'm interested in it. But can someone tell me what a CC2 is? Are there any websites to look it up, and is it still available?
Thanks guys.
