I was at a local LAN gaming center last night, and they had the following posted -
Looking for PS2 & GameCube Games for Mott's!
Digital Ops is looking for copies of popular Playstation 2 games, and a few specific GameCube games. These are for the 7th Floor Child & Family Life Activity room @ Mott's Hospital. Generally, kids who are in the hospital for extended periods of time on this floor will come down to the activity room to play games, work with arts & crafts, and enjoy other various forms of entertainment. Recently, most of their PS2 games were stolen, obviously, that sucks. You can help! They're looking for anything that's popular, however, though appreciated, please avoid particularly crappy, or violent games (No GTA, Manhunt, etc, you get the idea). It would also rock if we could get them Mario Kart: Double Dash & Super Smash Brothers Melee for the GameCube.
And I myself am going to donate a PS2 game or two, and figured if I could get one person here to donate one game, that would be one game they dont already have. If you are intrested in helping out PM me and we can get everything figured out. (Digital Ops is the name of the LAN, incase you were wondering) Mott's Childrens Hospital is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and I'm sure you have heard if it if you live in this general area.

Hey if you have any doubts you can always contact the hospital and donate them ther. Simple as that. I don't know the poster, but I tend to doubt he is trying to get free games lol.

It's nice to see gamers getting involved in stuff like this. I know Penny Arcade has their yearly Child's Play drive that asks for donations of games and systems (as well as toys and what-not). Then they help set up game rooms in children's hospitals. Even Classic Gamer Expo did this with their "Special Olympics Auction" at CGE this year. Some very high-dollar rarities were donated to the auction, then the winning bid amount was donated to the charity. Winner gets a game and charity gets a hell of a check. Everyone wins.

This is more my style of charity.

I would be glad to donate a sealed copy of Beyblade for the Gamecube, although I don't know whether it qualifies as "crap" or not. Shoot me a PM! :)
I give to alot of charities and Ive never heard of a charity not taking something that was considered crap. That sounds a little wierd to me. Im not trying to sound like a dick or anything, but just sounds suspicious, and demanding. I can totally see the thing about violent games, but a game is a game, and who is to judge what game sux?? My sister has breast cancer, and all of the charities Ive given to will accept anything for a donation. Ive never seen one say we dont want crap! Maybe you can edit your post a bit, and if they get games they dont want, have them sell them to buy games they do want.

What's a GNC game? Does it come packaged in cotton and have 100% of the RDA of vitamin C, Calcium, Zinc, and fiber? LOL
Good stuffs there.

Oh wow, I didnt even notice my 'GNC' screw up, thanks. Also, that message was written by the Digital Ops staff, not Mott's themselves. Someone at D Ops got word that this happened and posted this right when you walk in. I bet that Motts would take any game, 'crappy' or not, but this was not written by me or Motts, just a staff member at the place. Querjek, I'll PM you when I get the chance later on today. Thanks!

Why not try talking to one of the employees? You can let them know that you're a member of a gaming-oriented message board online, that several members are interested in potentially donating, and asking if you could have some specific contact information from them to post online for people that are interested? That way, interested parties have someone to contact directly rather than yourself, in case they're unsure.

There's some of the donation information directly at Mott
Ann Arbor is one of the larger medical communities in Michigan, Mott's Children's is just one of the many medical facilities centered there. Many of the hospitals are teaching ones, as it is located in a largly college-town. All the treatment, surgery areas, etc. are top notch though.

Ok, cool, that helps out a ton. If anyone is unsure, just direct your comments to them and I'm sure they are aware of it somehow. I'm about to PM you Querjek.

i would give up some of my games , but iam already doing something like that for a local drop in centre for kids, i give them some older nes/sega systems and common games, if i am going to do it ,it'll have to be to the kids in my neighbourhood/community centre first !! sorry it was nice for you to try to reach out to other gamers !!

That is completely understandable. I think its cool if any gamer donates some stuff to any child in any hospital. I'm sure just about any bigger sized one would accept some games and have great apreciation for them. I also emailed all of the staff members listed on that site, and I got a responce saying that they would love donations, and they gave me a direct adress. If you want that, just PM me and you can do whatever you would like with it.

Alright, I'm starting to get a few donation offers, but before I let this topic fall into obscurity, I'm going to bump it again. Thanks to everyone who has offered donations!
