What is the correct way to go from playing one 3DO game to a different 3DO game?

What does it say in the 3DO manual about that?

Basically, what I do is just turn the machine off, then turn it back on and press eject, and then put the other game in.

Is this the right way to do it?

I don't want to end up killing my 3DO system.

from the manual.

"hit the 3DO with a large hammer. walk away.."

I would guess it would be just like any other cd based system. Reset it, then eject the game.

Hold reset, press eject, still holding reset, swap CD's.

Actually, I've wondered this on the PS2 as well.

I don't think I've ever switched games and kept playing more than 2-3 times. But how SHOULD you do it? Hold reset till it shuts off, then open, then switch, then close, then boot? sounds a bit complicated to me....

I just hit eject, even when the 3DO is playing. I've had the thing forever and it works fine.

This is what I was doing for 1-2 years. Then I popped out SSX 3, and put an NHL Hockey in a couple months ago. My PS2 DIED for about 1 minute. Couldn't reset, couldn't eject, NOTHING happened. I think I even shut it off and back on and it was still dead. Finally it kicked back on somehow. Regardless, I haven't opened it up while running since.

Ive never had any problems changing the discs with my 3DO or PS2 while they were running. You just have to hit reset after you're done. Occasionally, when I'm watching DVDs on the PS2, I'll get a terrible sound if I eject the disc without stopping it, but that corrects itself as soon as I hit reset with the new disc.

I was amazed the first time I saw somebody pop the disc out of the PS2 and still keep playing the game hehe. Might have been Gran Turismo 3.

Actually, with the 3D0, you don't even have to hit reset....it does it automatically. It's programmed to recognize that the same disc isn't in the drive and reboots the new one. Apparently a software feat too difficult for the PS2 but managed fine by the 3D0 :)
