So what does the Walmart limited edition look like?

I'm guessing that

Is the regular version and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62053&item=8138864040&rd=1

Is the Walmart exclusive??

IIRC, the regular version didn't include the E-Reader cards.

I bought mine new at ebgames when it first came out and it looks like the second one and came with a couple of e-reader cards.

If I'm not mistaken, that second picture isn't the Wal-Mart exclusive, because I think we have those at work (Circuit City). Yep, this the pic that comes up on CC's website:

This is the regular-release version. The regular-release version included 3 e-cards.

The Wal-Mart release box looks VERY similar. The Wal-Mart release included 4 more e-cards in addition to the regular 3. Only the first run of this game included the additional e-cards. I'm pretty sure I have a picture of the Wal-Mart box, but I have no webspace available to post them.

You don't even have to sign up for anything.

No--the "normal release" came with 2 e-cards and the Walmart release came with 5 extra cards, for a total of 7.

I've got the Walmart edition here at home. If no one comes up with a pic before tonight, I might see if I can dig the box out to scan.

The WalMart box looks exactly the same (if memory serves me correctly).
The cards were just a little package of 5 cards that were given to those people when they bought it (assuming they remembered to give the cards out or that there were any left when purchased).

I didn't even realize there were two different versions of the box. I got my on launch day at Babbage's, don't remember which box I have?

If you got it at Babbage's, then you have the regular version. This variation was a Wal-mart exlusive.

The Wal-mart version does have a special box - and both sets of cards were in the box. Here's a close-up of the important corner. Not a great picture. It's not mine - just dug it up while searching.

Exactly right. 2 cards are in their own clear plastic wrapper are in every incarnation of SMB3e (normal, TRU gold gbasp pack in, and walmart), and the other 5 exclusive cards are in their own clear plastic wrapper. The going rate for a sealed pack of the 5 cards is about $50.

I believe the first auction is a pirate copy.
