At long last, i have purchased jack bros.
It look some thinking, but $55 was quite near my max on the last few, and i have tired of waiting.
As soon as that cart arrives, i will have reached my goal; the entire USA virtual boy collection, all fourteen games. It's quite a relief to be done.
Although some day i'd like to print a new label for my mario clash or just get a better one....as of now, i can rest easy.

Kick. Ass. But why you chose to complete the set of such a crappy system is beyond me. Oh well, just my opinion.

OK, KK, now you gotta start on the overseas releases. The prices for some of those (Gundam, Insmouse House, Space Squash) will make you PINE for the days of $55 carts. LOL

AWESOME! The Virtual Boy is one of my favorite systems.

Honestly though, I dont think that a VB collection can be complete without the Blockbuster Video custom VB suitcase, Get your eBay on, again!

Congrats. Myself, I wasnt impresed with the VB enough to get it when it was new, but for a colector, its a system thats less dificult to colect for. Maybe not as cheap as some, but definitly cheaper then others.

Let the man have his victories. No need to wander in here, piss on the thread, and wander back out.

Criminy, what a killjoy.

Because we're gamers supporting gamers.

I guess everytime someone makes a post about something they bought we could talk about the amount of time they had to work for that money plus the amount of time spent searching for that item, which is really a double whammy as both of those time periods are time wasted in the big picture of things, minutes and hours that you will never get back and, in reality, measurements of how much closer to death you really are.

I think I'll stick with the congrats, myself.

Hey KK, I forgot to mention ... I picked up a complete Virtual Boy with three games today for $25. Not sure if that's a good deal or not but, you know the drill, didn't have one so ...

Lol..yeah, i thought about the over seas releases, then i saw the not so awesome prices :\ i think i'm done. Although i WOULD like one of those blockbuster hard cases one day.....for now i can rest easy.

congratulations :)

Yes, I collect everything cart/disc only. I never liked boxes or manuals, so i leave those for people who do - someone's gotta take the loose ones!

But yeah, this one's been bothering me for months. Back in June i decided i'd finish the collection, I think i had seven games at that point. Aside from this final expensive one, the MOST i paid was $15 each, for 3d tetris, waterworld, and wario land.....the rest were $6-10 each, so it was not really a costly collection to finish. I find the system quite enjoyable personally ,which is WHY i finished it.
Here's hoping the Jack Bros cart arrives...my first r7 cart, yay.

I wish I could have had more time with a Virtual Boy. My only experience with it was in 1995 at TRU playing that stupid demo of whatever it was. I couldn't figure out how to control the ship. Wish they could have had a better game to show off.

Congraturation! LOL

(:

Congrats Kamino, I know some of those games can be pretty expensive, sounds like you've gotten some pretty good deals. So are you going to have a VB marathon when Jack Bros. arrives?

My only question is - it was painful? The payoff being..?

It has the advantage of being the compact complete collection. Yet the excitement must remain, or there will be only...dust, and ashes.

I would very much like many of the Japanese rarities - they seem to be decent titles overall.

I will gladly take almost any manuals and boxes you would not want :-P :D

Congrats! A completed collection is a completed collection and even with a small library it's not always such an easy task (unless you wanted to plop down a lot of cash).

that's a pretty good deal. depending on the games that came with it, it may be an even better deal.......(3d tetris, waterworld and jack bros being the primo scores of the collection; mario tennis, virtual league baseball, and i'd say a tie between teleroboxer, golf and panic bomber being the cheapest of the collection....everything else is pretty much an eight way tie in my budget book.)

Daria; You bet i'll be having a VB marathon. ordinarily that'd probably give me a sore back, but thanks to this contraption i'll be fine:

First of all, congrats to Kamino. Nice score -- I have not even touched a Virtual Boy since they were new, so I commend your persistence and dedication.

Now, on to this:

ok, no offense, but why is everyone sucking his #@%!. its 14 games for gods sake. relax. the entire VB collection can be completed in 1 day.

Yeah, but you can do it for PSone too if you've got thousands of dollars and nothing to do for 24 hours. What's your point? :hmm:

His celebration is in order because he completed the entire collection for a given system, which is interesting and cool.

Remind me to shove this same sort of attitude back in your face the next time you announce something, would you?

HEHE There you go, trying to put him back in pain again already, whispering your subliminal messages to him about how he needs to start working on a complete VB import collection now! There is no rest for the weary collector!

I just want one of those import Space Invaders games myself, but DAMN I don't wanna have to pay $300+ for it! I bet I end up doing it though. :eek 2:

Well, congrats on the accomplishment. I know that Jack Bros is a challenge.

congrats! I assume that pic and your avatar were taken at the same time (same headphones, same sweatshirt).

I remember renting the system from block buster when it came out. It was cool (if it didn't give me the migrain everytime I played it). LOL

So what's your next goal?

Same here. I've no idea how Insmouse Mansion (Insane Mouse Mansion, right?) plays, though SOME say it's god awful, ditto for SD Gundam Hyper Dimension War (off the top of my head...I think that's the correct title @_@).

Those, and both shooters from the folks at T&E (Vertical Force being the other, I think). Poor T&E. They never got hooked on the right hardware, did they? LOL

congrats...jack bros is my last piece of my american vb puzzle...not counting the wario land demo cart, if we want to go that far. i ended up getting most of the u.s. collection (and japanese jack bros. and the blockbuster case!) in one fell swoop at a video game place in downtown los angeles years ago.

as for the japanese games...let's just say if i knew then what i know now, i would have picked up a few more of these brand new titles from united game source when i had the chance...

virtual lab, virtual bowling and gundam will probably always be very much out of my reach...but that's why we hunt, i guess...

Well, they did okay with the MSX, I guess. BTW, T&E did Golf, but Hudson Soft did Vertical Force.

(I feel like I correct people too much. Sorry if I come off as a pain in the butt.)
