I've had lots of long drawn out kills that were a big relief, but I think my favorite kills are those "one magic shot" kills like firing a single shot at the Gorf mothership, blowing it to bits... or even the one shot you get at the Death Star in Star Wars: The Arcade Game.

Wow! Is this "Iron Monkey" for real? x_x x_x x_x I see by his post count that he's been here a while! ^_^
Well, to answer the question, I remember launching the final rocket at Tyrant in Resident Evil when I was badly injured and about to die! X_x I was very relieved when that scene was over!
Oh, and nice HHGTTG reference!

HAAII! Iron Monkey question my honor?! Say I lack Will of the Warrior?!
My deadly vicious cunning skill create glorious kill many time! One time survive battle with JOKER in Batman of lucky smile happy NES did o2william! Slice him with many Batarangs after long battle. Weakling die with no honor! Ha!
Also dispatch defeat the Red Grimgrin of Legend of the Guardian. Worthy adversary had much honor. Many seasons pass while we fight. Child become old man. Tiny sapling become mighty oak. Still we fight. o2william take many damage, but WILL OF WARRIOR and health power-up makes survive. Finally Grimgrin is die; warriors weep. Grimgrin spirit go with honor. But glory to o2william!!
Many worthy opponents had NES. Challenge for true warriors.

Iron Monkey appreciates way of "Monkey Steals Peach" poster of short season should know and fear!!
Many evildoers and Abobos have fallen to this method.
Biggest accomplishment was plant-face off tall building of evil spiritking "ED FARCON" with use of SPREAD GUN by methods forcibly.
It was after many evil spiritminions arrived with methods forcibly of removing temple to demon world village. Intermined to create order and bring down "SHIVA" of disruption the agents of the shadows arrive at door. Enemies of justice are returned by ninjutsu of fire wheel! Wind of spirit shaking. Rustle bushes of sleepless bird suddenly! CIA approaches!! Oh, It is a translation of the wireless. Relieved of orders are defeated brave company of dragon warriors captive in demon world village!
Oh BRAVE! DEAD FOX! Lack of pants deters him not! Entering the doors and exiting the gates he rescues the prisoners. Yet some are not alive. What responds to the inquiry? Millitary affairs it does not offer! Go! Go! Ninjen Heiki! To stairs and ceilings! Through interminable dressed turkeys dash quickly! Barrels of oil toss! Water is no barrier to the hero!
Tables and bushes reveal secrets to us. End game is nearing? Calmness is our being as the key turns. The final enemy is none other -
OH NO!
~IT IS HORRIBLE!
IT IS INTERNET PHENOMENON OF OS TAN!!!
Many brave samurai are overcome by the force!
We regroup for our final attack.

Super Mario World 2 killing Big Bowser at 1:39 AM.
I was 10ish and had spent about an hour fighting him.
The first time i lost terribly. The second time i was on the last tiny sliver of left over ground and baby mario had just got returned to me after i grabbed him back from the Lakitu.
Then i delivered the final blow to bowser and probabl had a small heart attack because i couldn't believe i did it. I was so amazed i almost went and woke up my dad.
If only i had started playing 2 hours earlier that night he would have seen me beat it. But it was still awesome
The final boss in Xenogears, I was lazy had low levels and didn't do any of the side quests. That lazyness cost me dearly as it took me about 10 tries to defet that bastard.
Beating Krizalid in KOF 99 Evolution, on expert mode. Just such a ceap ass Boss, I dont think I'll ever forget his final scream.

Under playing SMB2 for a looonnng time on the opening day of Batman, I beat Wart under threat of my parents turning the machine off if I had enough loud outburst (which happened after I lost a man every time).
I think many people felt like dancing after they beat Ganon the first time in Legend of Zelda back in the day. I'm part of that crowd. Same experience when I beat Zelda II. Gawd I hated the Shadow Link..

Glorious defeat of D3Eye in 23rd Mission. Both Rookie and Armageddon bring satisfaction equal.
Also, defeat of worthy opponent Czar of Earth Empire. The Super-Titan fell under a rain of plasma.

The best I've had lately were in Red Faction 2 and Morrowind. RF2 took about an hour, 6 tries, to beat. Morrowind was a one time through ass kicking, which kinda sucked (I expected more). He died with no honor!

Hah, much obliteration tales of to be told from Sotenga diaries! A great was Contra: Shattered Soldier, taking on game with S rank! While no perfect, much goodness regardless and having kicked ass of Relic without death on my part! Also, Battletoads. First beating it, used warps and code which endows extra lives. Second time, no warps, but yes code. Third time? Sans code, zero warps, kick Dark Queen's ass on very last life and triumph over big parallax tower! Proud victories go for me on Blaster Master memories. Game relative easiness right until final stage, then oh no spikes! Last boss real pain, but figure out pattern does Jason, keeps moving and avoids Plutonium Boss' whip, the whip of Hell itself! But his shield cracked, and victory once again stomps out all life of enemy. Then, the classics, Ninja Gaiden. Wow, what a tough! Die on any last three bosses, start again here we go Act 6 over! Eight times play through, maybe not even eight, more is sure. Patience, and Jaquio dies, and the demon he rode in on.
Many more tales are relevant, but brain and brain are out of commission for having blown fuse. Perhaps another time... yes, perhaps is a promise I'm likely up for grabs.

I remember once in FF6 I was fighting Kefka in that part in Narshe where you split up into several parties and fend off lots of monsters while one team gets to him. Only one character was left alive, I knew I'd lost, so, defeated, I hit "Fight" to kill the last bit of time.
KAPOW!
And that's how I discovered FF6's limit breaks. :)

Out of everything in the last year.......hmm....defenitely Disgaea. Without a doubt. I was only around a lowly level 200 around the final boss fight and the final boss made a major mistake by moving towards me instead of away. He just never had a fucking chance.

Up against the Succubus in Symphony of the Night, was in the air about to get hit and probably killed, when my bat familiar swooped in and offed her. That bat could kick just about anything's ass from that point onward.
Two days ago I beat Gunstar Heroes with 1 hp left.

Killing Sabertooth in the LJN classic Wolverine for the NES.
I was around ten years old when I bugged and bugged my parents for months to get me this title for my birthday. I was a big comic book nerd back in my day. I would read the same ad for the game over and over in the latest Punisher/Wolverine/X-men comic I (my parents) purchased. My birthday came, and, after school my parents and I went out to Meijers to go grocery shopping. At the end of this long exhausting trip, My mother and I walked over to The "World of Nintendo." There I picked up Wolverine and Dash Galaxy (Dash Galaxy still remains to this day, my worst videogame purchase.). I played Wolverine all that weekend non-stop ultill I finally made my way to my arch-nemisis, Sabertooth. The final showdown takes place on a cliff. Sabertooth can only jump and slash to a certain point to the left of the screen. After he reaches this point, he is stopped by an invisible wall. I figured, why not kneel next to this invisible wall and slash away? As I did this for almost two hours, I noticed there was no health bar for my enemy insight and he did not seem to be slowed by my constant barrage of punches. I also concluded that nobody could stand a two hours ass-whupping by Wolverine. Finally, I decided to take this fight to the right of the screen. After about ten or so hits, Sabertooth was sent off a cliff to God knows where ? That also ended the longest boss battle, two plus hours, in my personal gaming history.
