you've seen a lot? Remeber any off hand? I for some reason don't remember very many (although i am sure there are and i am not doubting you) SNES box varations. The only variation when it comes to SNES that I can think of is black and white manuals (majesco) compared to color manuals, small print on the back of boxes (majesco again) and crappy majesco carts compared to the originally produced snes carts.
anyone else?

As far as i know all sfc games came in the same type of long, thin type boxes. Maybe their were a few exceptions for limited editions and such, but I don't kmow any of the top of my head.
Here's an example of a super famicom box-

I've recently noticed that I have two SNES Speedy Gozalez carts with different end labels. Once's printed and the other is in cursive.

Yep , there were alot of variations. The mini snes (or snes2) had one with Link on it and one with Mario if I am not mistaken :hmm:
And the original Snes console box had alot as well. But I really dont remember them , I havent gotten past my U.S. nes collection to move on to the snes ;)

the speedy gonzalos variation is different because one is majesco and the other is not. I believe there is a Ms. Pac-man top label variation... other then that, those are the only i can think of.
Also, the mini snes 2 that came wiht zelda was a target exclusive
There was also a regular SNES that came with zelda as a pack in. I own it.
Also a DK country SNES that came with DK country as pack in
Also a Mario Allstar SNES that came with Mario allstar (no SMW) as pack in
and then there were a couple released with SMW and even one released when the price tag got dropped to 99.99 that came with 1 controller and the console only.

I'm pretty sure the original SFC had only 1 box variation, same with the SFC mini. No pack-in games with any SFC system to my knowledge.
Others I know of:
SNES2 had a ALTTP version and a Yoshi's Island version.
SNES had the original launch version with 2 controllers and SMW, and later the budget version with only 1 controller and no game. Later, there was the SMW+All-Stars system.

Control Set (no game, 2 versions - 1 for Germany 1 for the rest of EU)
More Fun Set (with Super Gameboy, for Germany, 2 versions)

Here are a few Snes (console) packages i have, in my collection
Killer Instinct Set : it has some of the KI fighters on the box, most of the box is dark red
DKC Set : Has diddy and Donkey on the front most of the box is green
SuperGameboy Set, Package, has a snes and the Super Gameboy on the front of it, also comes with the Super GB guide.
Regular Snes package : Comes with one controller, just the basic box (Some one mentioned the ZELDA package that was a regular snes pack with the Zelda sticker on the bottom left, stores added these stickers to off load regular snes packages)
Super Mario Set : Comes with the Allstar + SWM cart packed in. Has Both SMW Logo and the Allstars pic on the Box.
Super Nes, Super Set : Comes with Mario World! and 2 controllers
Snes "Mini" Package with Rpg mario on the front of the box
Snes "Mini" Package with Kirby on the front (I don't have this one)
I'll post a few pics very soon! :D

Is Majesco a developer or something? I don't see that name on either cart.

Majesco is famous...or rather, INfamous...for rereleasing games for budget prices. For example, the cardboard box rerelease of Castlevania: Bloodlines.
The fellow who came up with the "Game Boy games playable on theater projection equiment" hoax claimed that Majesco had its hand in it LOL
On a sour note, the multiplatform game Blowout, which was going to have a big, overarching storyline and immersive gameplay, had its funding drastically cut, and Majesco released it as a super-budget title.
Wow. It's been months since I remembered I own that game.
Anyhow, Super Famicom game boxes come in MANY different types and with slightly different sizes. There's some standards, but it's simply not possible to figure out how to stand them "up" on a shelf and have the box front aligned the right way...of the 9 boxes currently on my shelf, MOST are different. It makes for lots of really creative designs, but it's a bit of a mess visually, as opposed to the solid ranks of the Mega Drive library (Phantasy Star III excluded...)

I have seen a SNES console box with Super Metroid on it brand new on ebay before, and I have the DKC and KI ones.

I probably have the one Predatorx called:
"Snes "Mini" Package with Rpg mario on the front of the box"
It has 3d looking Mario characters on the front and sides, and Donkey Kong riding a swordfish on the back. I don't think they're suppose to be Mario RPG characters, as opposed to just regular Mario drawn to match Donkey Kong as there are no screenshots of Super Mario RPG on the back.

Yeah, I think that's the one I've got. It's either got SMRPG or SMW2: Yoshi's Island as a pack-in.

also, if you look at the back of majesco carts they have the warning labels printed directly on the cart in plastic, whereas the normal released would have them printed on a label and then stuck on. so the the speedy on the left is the majesco (the top label gives it away as it looks quite crappy w/ white color text) and the right is the normal release because it has nice bright color normal text on the top label.
hope that helps
and ed oscuro... way to hit the nail on the head ;) majesco WASN'T just snes, they also re-released some genesis titles for budget as well... and i think phantasy star IV is on of them.

And lets not forget the budget Majesco game systems.
Genesis 3 and whatever they call their GameGear.
