I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a kareoke night using their Saturn. We had one back in high school and it was a blast. It doesn't mask the voice track completely but the fact that you could sing along to any cd makes it fun. I usually don't like kareoke because you're limited to whatever music is available but popping in your own cds adds to the fun. What a great feature, I don't think any other system has ever added kareoke capabilities to their machines. And I'll finish by saying "KAREOKE".

Well, if you have the PS2 Logitech mike, I suppose you could do just exactly that with the PS2, whether you'd pop in a regular music CD or a karaoke DVD (but no CD+G disk, unfortunately)... aside from the Karaoke Revolution series, of course!

I used to run Karoke for a friend of mine here in atlanta. And when I would have people over I would use the karaoke's disc from my friend in my saturn. It worked just as good as his "Karaoke machine" putting the words up on the screen with the music just like at the bar.

Kareoke for Saturn? I didn't know there was a such thing. Cool, I'll keep an eye for it.

This is completely off topic but it drives me up the fricken wall when people say "kerri-oakey"...

you and me both. The problem is, I'm an avid karaoke enthusiast, and when you go to a bar and pronounce it correctly (KAH-RAH-OH-KAY), they look at you like you're retarded.

i knew the saturn had capabilities for cd+g discs, but i didn't know that those were karaoke discs. where exactly can i download a good sic or 2 so that I don't have to buy them. I know there has to be some places out there with free, legal karaoke.

The free, legal karaoke files aren't likely to sound too good. Even among the good companies (Sound Choice, Sunfly, Chartbusters and Sweet Georgia Brown), it can sometimes be a hit-or-miss.
My advice about this: go to a karaoke bar and try different versions of your favorite songs and note which ones are fine and which ones are off the mark (either music-wise or lyrics-wise).
I strongly recommend the online karaoke CD/DVD vendor Express Karaoke (http://www.expresskaraoke.com). The service is great and fast, and they have a very good selection.
For a starter kit, go for the Sweet Georgia Brown tool box at http://www.expresskaraoke.com/store/Search.asp?t=bcd&sid=F1FN85XBFR3A8M45VRT4W15QANAHDJQB
Express Karaoke has it on sale at $30 US plus s+h. I compared with other vendors and their price was much lower for this set than anywhere else. Note that this 10-CD set comes in loose paper sleeves, so it's recommended that you get any CD binder (if you don't have an extra one lying around).
