ok, yeah yeah i know we arent supposed to make how much is this worth threads but i think this one might be an exception.
i picked up a demo cart of yoshis island , and its in rather nice shape with just a little teeny tear in the sticker (i mean really small) and i dont have a clue what to sell this thing for, or what it can fetch on ebay.
and im also in no way interested in keeping it so if anyones interested in trading or buying it, (trades would be for saturn or sega CD only) you know the drill.
so whats this baby worth??

Hrm, I scored a similar item, a Starfox SNES demo, for about ten bucks off ebay. Considering the game came out late in the SNES life cycle, and that most stores were hyping the PSX at that time, fewer of Yoshi's Island demos would have been made. Of course, it's also the exact same game as the official release, so there's nothing special aside from the label.
Maybe $15?

I'd love to have a Yoshi's Demo cart. The only demo I have is the most plentiful one ever made.. Ken Griffey Jr. And I've never even tried it because I don't like sports.
I wouldn't mind finding an N64 demo of Mario 64 that they had in the kiosks back in 1996. That was the day gaming totally changed for me. When I discovered the control stick, the ability to tiptoe, walk, run, jump, crawl, swim all in 3D as a character I loved...
Ah.. to have that demo.

any one else wanna take a guess at the value??
Same as mentioned above. I almost had to pay someone to take my KGJ demo off my hands.

There really isn't anything different about the demo carts for the SNES, and because of that no one has begun to collect them it seems. I have about six different ones of them, as I was collecting them for a short period, but they aren't any more expensive that the regular games as they don't seem to be sought after. I would say you could get $20.00 for it because it is Yoshi's Island, a game that can fetch $15+ usually anyway.
If you aren't interested in keeping it and want to trade, I would be interested, but not at much more than $20.00 worth of stuff. I think I've seen it around town for about that...

They aren't super uncommon. JWL has one--looks just like the normal one, but with the typical "not for resale" on it. They don't go for too much, but we'll see in the future. The most common SNES one, that baseball game is really common, and can go for as low as $3.00 on eBay. It all really depends on the game. In fact, I've seen the Kirby SNES demo go for much less than the regular one (which normally goes for a decent amount).

I'd love it if someone compiled a list of these at some point. I have been trying to get them as I run across them, but have no clue how many there really are. So far, I have:
Ken Griffey Jr. Winning Run
Killer Instinct
NCAA Basketball
Tetris Attack
Tetris Blast
I have seen the following:
SMW2: Yoshi's Island
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 3
Super Street Fighter II
Kirby's Avalanche (is that the right Kirby's?)
I believe the following exist:
Donkey Kong Country 2
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars
Anyone know for sure?

Whoa! I want one of those Turok 2 ones. Those rule!
That's not a complete listing though. I've got a Tetris Attack, for instance. It's a great start though. Hmmm...

I've seen it at auction for around $20 but it does not come up much (I have a saved search for"not for resale" and get emails when one is listed). Value to a collector would be $20 - $35 depending.
That is my estimate. These games have not really been going for sky high so far as I can tell. Highest one I ever saw was a Starfox one which went for $50 + shipping on ebay. By the way the person with the list, Starfox is another one for your list.

i found out that the snes and n64 demos for some reason don't really have a list. i know there is a thread that has many of the n64 ones, but i guess it is hard to know which ones made it to kiosks or something.

I wish I had the money. I love that. I can also see that that is the Not For Resale version. I can almost make out the white box where the red letters would be. Tempting, but more than what I have right now. Especially with $80 shipping.

Hunh. We should probably start a whole 'nother topic about this to see what we can come up with. I would be a lot more curious about collecting these if I actually knew what was out there :)

thought i would pop in as well..
I have the ocarina of Time demo, so if u got questions let me know!
The yoshi I would say is around 20 or more. There is not a big market for snes demos though. (too bad)
I also collect snes demo's. although i have a slight preference for N64/GBA demos.
The list i will update again! Both Snes and N64..
