There was 1 minute left and it was at 33.00. I thought Id win so I waited till about 5 seconds then placed bid of 46 bucks. But 4 other people bid within the last 10 or so seconds and it ended at 64 bucks. Oh well.

I remember back when I was trying to get a top loader on eBay a few years ago it took me at least a couple months of watching and waiting until I was finally able to get one for around 50 bucks.

So you're disapointed that all those other snipers out there out sniped your sniping effort?
Oook...

I swear just get a sniping program. Lets say I want a toploader, I do a search and imput all auctions for top loaders that I think are good into the program, and program it to bid 50 dollars in the last 4 seconds. With my program you can make it so that it will bid 50 UNTIL you win one of them, which is really sweet, and takes the annoyance out of bidding yourself.

Lol @ disappointed snipers.
Come on, if you wanted to pay MORE, you should've put in MORE. Waiting until the last minute will keep competition from realizing they've got to contend with you, but on a much-wanted auction you're still going to have to put in a high maximum wanted bid.
Basically, if it's an item with very little competition, sniping might hold costs down a good deal.
If it's an item with a LOT of competition, sniping will likely just screw you over unless you put up a COMPETITIVE max bid.
