I won this auction for Devil World at the beginning of the week:

And today, it came in the mail. So, anyways, I open it up and (momentarily ignoring how the innards are rattling around) pop it in my Famicom AV. All I get is this fugly green and brown mess and a really nasty sounding (and loud, I may add) hum/interference. So, I clean the contacts off with a Q-tip and water (which tends to work just as well as rubbing alcohol or whatever stuff the fan sites tell you to use even though the NES manuals say not to). No change. So, I really go to town, using multiple Q-Tips and finally rubbing off a ton of dirt.

So, next I plug the cartridge/game pak back in, and the mess is still there. So, I hammer on the reset button, which brings the title screen up in glitchy fashion (a few more times brings up the title screen as it should be). Problem is, the interference noise is still there, and there's a rolling distortion thingy, shown here:

Now, my FDS creates this, but never this bad, and it's starting to not even show up at all when I play a Disk System game. But it's really bad on this Devil World cartridge, when no other game pak I've thrown at my Famicom (US or Japanese) has done this. And I still have to contend with the mess described above just to get the game to boot up. Any suggestions on a course of action?
