working designs just translates the games they release. It would be gamearts and esp that would make it. Though seeing as how squareenix owns most of the company i wouldn't count on any new Lunar's.

If there is a Lunar 3, the North American version won't be through WD; it'd be Square Enix or Ubisoft (which published the GBA Lunar).
During my WD stint, I saw a very short concept video of L3's combat sequence, along with some concept art. I also received a verbal description of the story, which had nothing to do with Lunar 1 and 2; it was very disappointing, and Victor was rallying them to rethink their ideas. Worst of all was the working title--"Over the Rainbow."
I always wanted to see a prequel with the Four Heroes in their prime.

I think most Lunar fans do.

As much as I love WD, I will be completely stupified if they stay in business after Growlanser launches, especially after this wonderful 8 month pushback (so far).

I saw an EB Games ad for a GROWLANSER PS2 box set maybe two months ago. Is there one already available....or was it DRAKONGARD or something like that? I don't remember what I saw, but it was one of those box sets like the ones for LUNAR 1 & 2, only this was for PS2...

As will I, my friend. Victor's already had to move back into the converted upstairs bedroom that was WD's "office" in the Turbo days, and let go just about every employee who isn't related to him. I don't see Growlanser being a Disgaea-ish sleeper hit, as Disgaea had Nippon Ichi's killer gameplay and Atlus's killer marketing behind it. Any worthwhile candidates for localization will be claimed by larger companies that can guarantee faster turnarounds. Victor has publicly dissed Microsoft, and there aren't any good Japanese Xbox games for him to localize anyway. And there's no money to be made as a GameCube third-party publisher. I'm AMAZED that Vic has hung on this long.

You saw Growlanser: Generations, which contains Growlansers 2 and 3. Victor originally planned to ship them separately, but Sony forced him to release the games as a bundle 'cause of their "primitive" 2D visuals.
As sisko said, GG has been delayed for eight months and counting. I'm confident it'll ship before Christmas, because WD is unquestionably toast if it doesn't--but then, WD seems to be toast no matter what.

Shame.
I would greatly miss the lavish box sets with the extras packed in. I still look at my Arc The Lad and Lunars and my Vanguard Bandits hardcover guides and wonder "how did you offer so much quality?" It still amazes me.

Indeed. WD reminded me of the old computer companies from the 80's like Legend and Infocom that used to include all the cool bonsues and extras with their games. I also expect this to be their last game.

You offer that much quality by not making much profit. :) I give Victor credit for always pushing the packaging as far as he could.
As for the hardcover guides, those were printed overseas to save money--although I think the added shipping costs probably canceled out the savings.
