I was at my freinds house and hes got an xbox. On it hes got snes emulater with tons of games. There were 3 variants of mario world. One of them had a whole new map and levels and eveything, but the sprites were teh same. The second one had same map but levels were different. I always wanted to play a sequal to mario world like this and it was so fun. Though some levels are hard on the adventure continues. You can download the roms somewhere most likely.

The Philips CD-i game is called Mario's Wacky Worlds. the most up to date version of it is so early in the production process that I would hardly call it a game at all, maybe a very rough beta at the very least. It's a novelty to play on a CD-i, but after 10 minutes get's very old. Interesting, long and sad story behind that game. And someone else could take it from there but I KNOW that this has been covered in more detail in another thread. Actually searching for that very game online is how I stumbled into this gaming community.
I'm sure that your buddy just has a few hacks of SMW on his Xbox, those things are very common if you check out SNES emulation sites.

I believe you are referring to FuSoYa's groin-grabbingly transcendent (for lack of a better term) Super Demo World: The Legend Continues (http://fusoya.cg-games.net/lm/dw.html). Go play now.
(There's a FAQ for it out there somewhere, and you'll probably need it, even though the game isn't stupid hard like a lot of other hacks out there.)
