A buddy of mine wanted to borow a Gamecube game from me so he ask me to make a list for him of what I have. So I make a list and im looking at it and something seems a bit odd. I can't figure it out, then I count how many games are on it. 76! @_@ 76? When the hell did I buy 76 games for the cube? I don't really collect for the cube, just buy what I want to play or if a see a cheap game I pick it up. And its not like the games are stored in a draw there on 2 shelfs in full view.It never seemed like that many.

Has anyone else ever been surprised by there own collection?

Heh, I finally got around to putting mine into IGN's online collection thing and nearly fell over when I saw my grand total was around 480 games. :eek 2:

It doesn't LOOK like I have that many! LOL

Yeah. When I put all my genesis games on my shelf I couldn't believe there were almost 200 on there. But after thinking about the HUGE part of the floor that was invadeded by complete genesis games, it made sense. I think I'm up to like 262 now and they are once again invading the floor =\. Time for another shelf.

I have that reaction sometimes.

I'm getting close to having 300 games (currently at 287), and my collection doesn't look that big.

My NES, Genny, Cube and PS2 "collections" are still within the count-at-a-glance size. My N64 collection is the one that fools me with it's number. I'm still finding it easy to get N64 completes in the wild. I don't buy the loose carts....unless it's REALLY obscure.

I've noticed that my collection grows by a title or two or three every week....since software prices seem to have come down significantly in the past year. I have to force myself to buy Cube and PS2 games that I will thoroughly complete or get replay value enough to keep.

Reaching the 500 mark suprised me. I didnt think I had that much untill I realised there all hidden in shelves.

Passing the 80 cart mark in 2600 games. Someone asked if I had a dupe of a very common game and I figured I hadn't really counted them before. So boom 87.. now 86 ;)

Also I have 3 or 4 GameCube games... but no GameCube...

Man, was I shocked and stunned when I listed on IGN, and I found out that I had over a THOUSAND games!!! (not counting some that are not listed in there...) @_@ It sure doesn't seem like that much! (Well, I guess to some people on this list, it isn't, but, oh well...) (click below to see my collection)

My NES had some problems with foreign material getting trapped in the internal connectors, so I had to take it to Nintendo to get repaired. When I took it to have it cleaned, they told me to bring all my cartridges so that they could scrub those out too.

I filled two jumbo-sized garbage bags with all my NES games; it dawned on me then that I had a lot of these things. The guy behind the counter at the service center looked pretty pissed off when he saw me coming through the door with those things. LOL

That's what I noticed when I listed my games for the first time: A hundred games doesn't look like a hundred games. O_O :)

I don't have that many games, maybe 200-300, but since most of them are CD based it definately doen't seem like it's that many. Plus my collection grows on an almost daily basis.

It really doesn't. CD's are worse. I fill 3 racks with 'em (I'm probably approaching 500) and I still can't find anything I want to listen to half the time!

My NES collection continually surprises me. I know exactly how many games are there, which ones have what, and what shape they are in. But Im constantly amazed when I look at it. 305 NES games can be deceptive. Especially when they have manuals. I constantly am shocked how many of my games I have manuals for that I don't even notice because they're tucked into a sleeve. The rest of my collection isn't that surprising in terms of numbers, but damn, how did I manage to afford 305 NES games??

I was really suprised when I opened my box of 2600 and many games I was going to buy the night before were in there LOL

The amount of games I have just depresses me, considering I have yet to play so many of them. Some day I will count them, but not soon.

The two standout portions of my collection, in terms of "I never realized I had so many of those", are Intellivision and Genesis carts - around 45 of each at last count. Genesis is easy to explain as I inherited a lot of sports titles when the system was donated to me, and I buy a lot of titles for it which I think my kids would like. As for the Inty, it just surprises me because I wasn't a fan of the system in its day. As I recall, I got most of my Inty carts in two or three separate chunks of thrift store hunting and seizing opportunities to buy them for .25 to $1 apiece.

Nowadays, Intellivision and Atari 2600 (248 of those) are the only systems for which I will buy games indiscriminately...assuming reasonable thrift store prices are applied, of course.

One day I buy a new system. Then I buy a few games. A week or a few months pass, and I buy more games. As years pass I continue to buy these games. Used or new, I keep buying them up as quick as I can. Even if I dont have the time to play them. Then one day I start triping over games. So I decide to see just what I have. Then it dawns on me that I have a colection. A large colection. One that's larger then I imagined posible.

I never guessed I would have over 250 games, and then I counted them. Sad part is in the past week I've picked up 12 more to add to the colection.
