Hello
I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure if there'll be a region difference in DS carts (or media cards whatever you wanna call 'em). Being in the UK, were not getting the DS till springtime next year so, i was thinking of doing the obvious thing and importing one from the US. So, does anyway know if there'll be a region difference in DS games?
Thanks a bunch,
Joe. :)

I believe Nintendo has stated the DS will not be region specific. As for the games, they should work in any DS, just like Game Boys have always been.

So it's region free?! YES!!! Now I'll be able to get Goemon DS, regardless of whether konami releases it here or not. :D

Thanks a lot guys. I'll defintley be importing one come November time. Now its just a case of which launch games to get. Im thinking Super Mario 64 DS, Feel the Magic: XY-XX and Mr.Drillier...
Thanks again.

All we need to see is if games from different regions communicate okay over the wireless connection...

I don't see why it wouldn't. It'd essentially be the same game, just with localizations. Unless the localization team decided to mess with things they aughtn't.

There are several cases of GBA games not communicating through different regions (Zelda: LttP, Final Fight One, I believe Advance Wars too) so I don't think it will depend on the region of your DS, it will solely be software based. The DS supposedly has 7 language support built in, so perhaps they are deliberately going for a worldwide outlook from the beginning...

Those are the exact same games that I have preordered, so I'd say that they're good choices :)
