Yea it might cost a bit more, but at least you don't gotta wait until Feb. (or later)
Anyone here gonna get it? I hope to have it by the end of the week, or next week, and it'd be great to get some matches against some of you fools.

I've heard that the same controllers released for the PS2 will be coming for the Xbox as well. I sure fuckin hope so, they are pretty sweeto!

Damn, I'm getting this. No way I can wait 'till February or March now when I know the import is region-free.
Anyone know a good place online to order this from? I never order imports, so I'm totally clueless in this department.

Thats cool, but how much does the import version go for, fifty nine bucks or so? It just doesn't seem worth the money. I rather just wait the extra 3 to 4 months.

www.ncsx.com i know is good (i've bought from them a number of times) it's still on preorder there, scheduled to ship the 28th. they're located in the usa as well.
there's also www.gamechoice.com.hk which i've also bought from quite a few times, but you'll pay more in shipping, or wait longer.

I check out the links and they said around 50 bucks shipped. Not to bad, though is 3rd Strike even included with it? Wasn't that only for the u.s release of the game?

I believe the Street Fighter 2 anime comes with it as well. It's actually one of the better VG to film translations ive seen. It's not perfect but it's a damn fun action film!

Very possible. When the dub hit US shores 8 years ago the Chun Li shower scene was hacked up pretty well. She had nice tits! Ha ha ha

NCSX is located in New York, it usually takes about 2 days for a UPS ground shipment to make it's way to me. I don't think it would take much longer for you, nork, if at all. They're a very reliable company. I've ordered from them many times.
I hope that this region-free bit isn't just a one-time shot. I'd love to see more games released as region-free.

Ordered one today, as NCSX said it was the last shipment of Region-free discs they were going to get since Capcom recalled them.
Hope the recall doesn't effect the ability to play on LIVE-otherwise I just wasted $50 since I already have the JPN PS2 version...

It doesn't. I've been playing online since Tuesday. Lemme know when you gets yours.
There is an issue online with SF3 though, it's referred to as the Black Screen of Death. Sometimes after picking rematch, it will just go to a black screen, and you'll just hear the music. The only way out is to sign out of xbox live.
Also Capcom is saying the reason they recalled it is because of a sound bug in Hugo's stage. I think it happens only if you pick Arranged sound instead of Original. At some point the music just skips over and over and it's quite annoying.
Of course that might not be the only reason for the recall...

Hey butta, are all the menus and text in it Japanese? I know it's just a fighting game, but will I have problems navigating it if it is?

This game has W-code which means whatever language your system is set to, the game will be in. So yea, it's in English.
Online competition is pretty good. Most players are at least decent (like myself) There are some experts though, that will rough you up good.
My record right now is 31 wins / 121 matches. It should be more like outta 90 or so matches, but when you get the black screen of death, it counts as a match.

using a saturn pad. i have the hori stick as well, but can't do nearly as well with a stick unless it's at a cab

Uggh! I just got a Magic Box adapter last month and thought it was the lamest controller adapter ever made. You can only use official PS2 dual shock controllers with it and the lovely Agetec Dreamcast arcade joystick isn't compatible with it either (L & R buttons don't work). When I was using it, it only worked with the re-designed Saturn controllers and not with the original ones which I thought was completely ridiculous.
If you want a PS2 -> Xbox controller adapter thats compatible with *any* controller (even wheels), get the Game Elements adapter. $15 at Gamestop. I use it on my Xbox with the Street Fighter Anniversary controller and it works like a dream.
If you don't want to deal with adapters though, I think they make special edition 6-button Xbox controllers now for Dead Or Alive Ultimate and Mortal Kombat Deception
