DEFENDER saving the human race!

the defender game that came from 1983 is BACK! with more action!,and its 3D.the publisher is midway,players 1-2,on ps2,gc,xbox.if you havent played it then tell me how you think ,how good the game will be,who seen it or played it ,this is what you have to do=rate this game based on how good the game is=10.0 to 7.0 is exelent,5.0 to 4.0 is avarage , and 3.0 or lower is CRAP! like for example these are the titles you will use to put the numbers=visuals,sound,ingenuity and replay.give examples of why you think that game should get that point avarage.NOW GO!

Well obviously Defender (the original arcade game) collectivelly blew us all away when it was brand new. So I rate it a 10, since it was literally state of the art w/ matching gameplay to boot. These days it still kicks everyone's ass although the graphics are obviously dated, you have to give it a break... heck it's from what, 1981?? So today I'd still rate it a solid 8.0.

Now the new game.. who knows. I'll try it someday. ;)

I havent played the new Defender yet, but as a kid I was a Defender Stargate God...no one in my hood could beat me. I still love the game to this day. I have it for the playstation. :o :D

I just picked it up the other day. It's very boring. It looks good, some of the original sounds are there, but it's just not fun. Too hard to hit anything, takes several shots to kill the lowest level aliens, and to hard to rescue a human once he's falling to the ground or (or not to shoot him) once an alien has picked him up. i'd give it a 5 out of 10. There's no old school enjoyment here, stick to the original on emulation.
