View Full Version : Paper Mario GC variant covers?

I happen to come across two copies of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and I noticed that one of them has a gold oval "best seller" seal printed onto the front cover. I got this copy from Toys R Us. Does anyone else have this variant? Just curious.

From what I've seen, chain retail stores like TRU, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc. have that little seal on them, while game stores like Gamestop do not.
I'd prefer the copy without the seal, since it's covering up the cool little Yoshi! :eek 2:
Megaman Anniversary Collection also has different covers depending on where you bought them. One has Dr. Wily on the cover while the other does not.

speaking of that, i guess I'm not the only one who has noticed that. The other cover has something like "10 games in 1!" while trashing the Dr. Wily icon...I have no idea why they did that

The copy I bought last week had the "Best Seller" label on it.

Yea, not all of them have it but a large portion do. I don't know anyone that can actually confirm the reason but I have heard of different reasons.
- To make it look like a best selling novel (like you would buy from a book store)
- Misprint, for whatever reasons.

Actually, call me a liar, since I just got back from Gamestop and they had both variants on display. Very weird. How can it be a best seller if it just came out? That's like putting the Players' Choice stripe on Metroid Prime 2... I've also seen another game with that same exact "Best Seller" seal, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was...
