Hey,

I found this in its original box at a flea market last weekend, and I can't find any info on it. It's got a KayBee price sticker on it, but the year code is rubbed off, and there is no date on the packaging (no instructions). The Froggo Games logo is the same as on the 2600 carts. I am sorry, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I am doubtful that it will work. The wire was melded to the styrofoam insert, and one of the battery covers is missing (dammit!).

Now that I'm looking at it again, the battery cover that's left (there's one on the bottom of each side of the controller) has contacts on it for the battery. Does that mean it won't work without it? It's not connected to anything, but I don't know squat about that stuff.

I will try to get some scans up and test it out soon.

Thanks!

Anyone else shed any light on this controller?

It was recently listed on ebay (ended without any bids)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320092223265

The listing is for a brand new boxed unit, looks in better shape than the above. Still see no copyright date or anything like that from that warranty pamphlet in the listing.
You might be able to contact the seller for more details if he still has it.

Considering it went for no bids boxed new and only started at $9.99 the value is probably pretty low on this thing (most likely due to it's unknown nature - I'm sure there are very few of these in circulation... I've never seen one before.)

This also brings up some other questions: Once Atari pretty much shunned Froggo Games, did they get into the NES field? Was the developer going to make ports of their previously announced Atari 7800 games? Were they working on titles that never got completed? Hmmm.....

Hello, I was the seller and actually I decided to pull the auction thats why no bids. I know its worth more than the interest I was seeing early on during the listing. Mike : )

Yours is in really nice shape.
I wouldn't be suprized if it sold for 100.00 or more

What idiot at Froggo said "Let's call our cool new gamepad a 'Turbo stick'".

These are quite rare, but not impossible to find. I've seen them around 10 times on eBay in the past two years, and all but one or two of them were new in the box. They've sold for $10-30 USD as far as I can remember.

They also released non-wireless Turbo Stick controllers, which I've only seen twice on eBay, both times loose, so those are pretty rare.

Wow, I totally forgot about this post. Thanks everyone for the info! I never tried it out because it was missing the battery cover, which has contacts on it, so I figured it wasn't going to work. Or is there a workaround for that?

That's really cool. I didn't know Froggo had done anything outside of Atari 2600/7800.

What idiot at Froggo said "Let's call our cool new gamepad a 'Turbo stick'".Probably the same idiot who thought it was a good idea to rerelease crappy Panda and Ultravision games!
