View Full Version : Nyko Net Extenders
I have a few questions about the Nyko Net Extenders...
1) If I use a USB Cable Modem can I use the ethernet port on the modem to use the Net Extenders?
2) If I get these I won't have to pay for the PS2 internet?
3)Are they worth it?
Oh yeah and will they work with a Dreamcast broadband adapter?

1. I believe you'll need to be running through a router to use them if you're planning on hooking up more than one device at a time (i.e. a PC)
2. Huh? Playing online with the ps2 doesn't cost anything anyway, unless you're playing FFXI. If your question is asking about browsing the internet with the ps2, sorry, hasn't happened yet.
3. I'd say no. Get a good wireless router and a wireless adapter.
4. No idea, but given the limited functionality (browsing the internet on your TV) of the broadband adapter today, I'd wonder why it would even be an issue.

I have a pair and they work fine. I use it not only for my PS2 but also for the PC in my room using a hub, so a dreamcast should be just fine. My units are about 20 feet apart with one wall between them. I get about 1.5 Mbit/sec. and FFXI ran with no lag...
I found mine on sale at the KBtoys (http://www.kbtoys.com) website for $69 about 6 months ago... I wouldn't pay full retail for them...
