I know that Yoshi's Island: Super Mario World 2 used the FX chip. Don't know of any others off the top of my head though.

Manipulating the bosses I believe to give them all the weird effects they pull off...

I believe there is a difference between the FX chip and other add-on hardware acceleration. The FX chip games (which I tried to collect even as a kid) are, I think, as follows:

Dirt Trax FX
Star Fox
Stunt Race FX (freaking awesome game)
Vortex

But, many other games had other types of hardware acceleration:
Megaman X2 (remember the 3-D wireframe sword :) )
Megaman X3
Yoshi's Island
... are indeed some examples.

My question, why the hell does a game like PGA European Tour have a hardware acceleration add on?

EDIT: I've been informed that Doom did indeed use the FX chip

Also the 3D falling doors/walls on some levels.

Read the linked article above. It explains the all various different chips and which games used them.

phoenix why don't you check out the link posted before posting false info (Doom not FX??), just an idea...

I wish ALL of the SNES golf games had it. It makes the "greenery" load faster.

I don't think the chip can only do "3d" games it can render 2d as well. I could be wrong but it makes sense to me.

There are a few more snes titles that have the FX chip, But they are PAL / UK games, i'm sure someone here should have a list, i think there are 3 PAL games that use the FX chip, but these games never got a release in the US.

I think i might even have these games lying around? will have to have alittle look around! ;)

Yes, I believe my mistake had been previously and more politely alluded to in the previous post, might I recomend that you hydr0x look to the previous post before posting redundent advice.

EDIT: also, as far as being false, I did qualify my response with "I believe" and "I think"
