Do they still put demo discs in the mags (and how frequently?) Is this a good mag? I subscribe to Nintendo Power, and I get X Box Nation for free right now....not sure if I should bother with this..

The OPM demo discs come in every issue, and are all PS2 based now. The magazine itself isnt all that bad, but could be better (as could all the magazines). One thing I do like about them is the fact that they unlike OXM (Official XBox) dont claim that the PS2 is gods gift to the world. They are pretty fair and balanced in the reviews of all the PS2 games, including the SCEA developed stuff.

I really like it mostly because of the demo disk but it's an alright magazine. I've put alot of hours on the demo disks that come with it because I'm a cheap ass and play the demos untill the games drop in price. :)

The demos have gone downhill since the days that they had Syphon Filter as a demo back when the magazine was PS1 based.

I don't waste anymore money on it. Too much movies and music garbage in it too.

Hmm...don't know about the US version, but I liked the article about Killzone. Other than that, the Aussie version is awful. AWFUL.

Be sure to run out and get this months new issue with Grand Theft Auto on the cover. The demo disc has a great selection on it...including Killzone.

I buy OPM for the disc and because it IS usually fair in it's opinion. Funny thing though...it goes from being intelligent...to being juvenile. Case in point...this months issue, now that GTA San Andreas is out. The cover tag..."first review of the biggest game ever!!" The editorial inside is starting with the obvious juvenile question..."did Rockstar make the game bigger and better?" (NO, stupid...they took all of this time to purposefully make an inferior product....DUH!!!) The magazine has decided to do it's duty and inform us all that the game IS better.....just incase we're suddenly 6 yrs old and couldn't come to that conclusion on our own.

We'll have to withstand all of the "best game that the world has EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER seen" mentality for the next 4 months worth of issues. The game is cool....it's all of the stupid over-the-top hype-machine doting in magazines and on gaming sites that I can't stand.
