Just something I was thinking about when noticing Karaoke Revolution vol. 3 coming out next week...

Is this the fastest time in which a game are reached it's 3rd iteration in a series?

KR vol 1 was released on 11/5/03 and vol 3 comes out on 11/9/04. That's a year and a few days to get to 3 in the series. Domestically, has anything got to the 3rd in a series any faster?

If I recall right, the old, old Catacombs Abyss series went through about five iterations in the span of a few years.

DOOM and DOOM II were released somewhat over half a year of each other, correct? Not close to this record, though.

Beyond those examples, I can't really think of anything. :P

What about the DDR games? There seems to be a lot of variants/sequels but I don't know for sure.

I think the Swordquest trilogy has it beat! I'm pretty sure that .hack series did too.

And if I can throw a curve at ya, Die Hard Trilogy came out all at once!

LOL Ah, how I entertain myself.

In that sense, then Duke Nukem 1-3 came out all at the same time, too (at least going by the folder/executable/episode names :)

I think the King's Field games came out really close to each other too.

What about Jak 3? Those games started coming out only like a year ago didn't they?

The original Jak came out in 2001. Jak 2 came out last year. Jak 3 coming out now. Only about 3 years from beginning to end. Not bad.

What about Ratchet and Clank too? The first of those came out in 2002. Already it's on the third game. Only 2 years. So Ratchet is younger and faster.

All the DDR games came out in a year+ of eachother, so they arent even close.
