Score? [TurboGrafx-16 CD & Case]

I came across a Tubro Graphic 16 case that my manager found in his garage. inside houses 2 control pads 2 games. some ant game and somethign vails game or vailis . anyway and theres a TG16 CD player thing that hooks to the TG16 itself with a system card. he says 20$ would be a fair price he thinks. but ive never seen one. what you all think

would someone mind filling me in on this item. im not familar with it. are there good games for it? how rare are they? is 20$ avg , real cheap or real pricey ( i can assume not). id be interested in learning more about this

go to the online rarity guide on this site and do a search for turbografx 16 non-cartridge items. I usually see the the cd unit go for between $50-$100.

yes there's great games, yes it's a great price.

i think (not sure i have a duo) that you will need a system card 2.0 or 3.0 to play a good amount of the cd games, and those cards are expensive. but nonetheless, there's some great games to play on that hardware alone.

i'm thinking you could sell just the hard case by itself for close to $20.

Jump on that price in a heart beat, you'll have saved yourself the money to buy the System 3 card and enjoy the really nice CD titles.

Hop over in the b/s forum and buy Ninja Spirits off of ScottK if he still has it available. That's a pretty fun platformer. Also, all of the Bonk games are wonderful. I have limited experience with the TG16 but those are the best of what I played in my short tenure with the system.

Hopefully you've got enough info, and the overwhelming cries of GRAB IT RIGHT NOW reached your ears :)

There are a number of topics on the system if you search the forums on "turbografx", and as someone else had mentioned, our online guide has loads of great information on the system and games as well.

The CD player won't play all of the CD games without a system card, check the system card info in the guide for details. You don't NEED to play the CD games to enjoy the system, though. There are plenty of superb titles on HuCard.

bad news. thanks to evil bay he wants 95$ with the system, case, 3 games and system card. also 2 contorls a 5 port multi tap. evil bay says the system is 130$ and the games are 25 $ ea.

kinda iffy if its me. but he says to stop by his house tomm night and see if he can dig out some snes. nes and other GB items.

This is what I cannot stand. I used to get great deals at a certain video game store in NJ (I will not name it), but the last time I was there and asked for the price for something, the guy told me to hang on for a second while he consulted his laptop for the highest going price on ebay. When will people realize that ebay is not a price guide? Now, if the system he saw on ebay hits $200 because of a bid war in the end, will he ask for that?

now that im in jersey ( always lived here) id almost be interested in knowing which shop it was. and Cash Converters wouldnt surprise me up in bergen county if they start marking games and things according to ebay. they started at $1 a game which always meant they paid either .33 or .50 a game. thats fair let them make something. then you would see $4.99 for a madden 95 game or in general all games 4.99 do i believe they paid 2.50 ea i doubt it. and the games just sat around. now its 1.99 or 2.99 depending if its genesis or SNES. and they said they dont take atari anymroe. which i said your gonna loose alot of my business if you stop that. cause thats what i do most. and you know that from the past. all i got was you buy snes and nes now. we got that you buy that. granted in the past i didnt ahve a nes or snes collection so yes i bought in bulk . but now i have most all the good ones. and anything i buy now really is gonna be either duplicates to offer here or just BS games that just to fill in the ones i dont have. but he said no more atari. no old game just new game. you dont know how tempted i was to be like no more old buyer just no buyer. but i bit my tounge cuase im sure something old will slip by. but now that i got off topic. im gonna go to my bosses house tomm with my 500 watt. light lamp and help him dig though the garage. if im lucky he'll cut me a deal since i had to help dig though it. and for the other people this is the same guy i bought his game gear collection from for $380. still waht i call the biggest single lot of game gear games ( different titles) ever. i think it was something like 130 or so. and 4 or 5 systems. boy id sure like to start makign side lots to move them out.

Ok , I picked it up. not sure what ill do with it but i figured you all felt it was a fair thing and since i dont have it i went for it. ill tell ya what games i got for it.

looks also like the CD is detachable and can be used as a portable CD player. hmmm ill be tempted to velcro it to the monte's dash board . lol nah but it works well and all. very cool. but seems a bit boring since i dont think i got enough games to play

here's a rundown of what you'd expect to get if sold all seperately on ebay

turbo system $25
cd system $70
system card $15 to $20 if 2.0 i'm assuming
sim ant $10.00 or less
valis, if 2 probebly $15
if 3 maybe $20 (assuming it comes with jewel case, cd, and manual) if you have the outer box it's worth a few dollars more
extra controller $5
hard case $30

i sold pretty much the exact same stuff and thats about what i got around 2 years ago.

i suggest selling all that, and i will set you up with a guy who will sell you a modded duo system.
