hello to all (i looked your forum for a long time, it gives ideas and you're from the rare too, to talk about Laseractive :),

it seems i'm not the only one to have got a laseractive totally destroyed, mine seemed ok, the seller just said that the tray wasnt working, i tried testing the unit (i live in europe), so i got a 220v-110v converter, it started to smell bad, then explosions appeared on the power output !!

shame, i noticed too late that the motherboard of voltage was destroyed in an angle, so i figure it's because of that and certainly the shipping or the selled lied to me and didnt test it according to something he knew..

perhaps it's worse but i dont know.

so i'm seekings informations, confirmations about the laseractive, did someone had similar problem ? saved it ? what kind of other power output could be implanted to save it ?

if someone hasn't destroyed a malfunction unit of throwed it, could he sell me the power output 125w ?? perhaps that could save the laseractive, my heart gone really bad since this "explosion", lose about 250$ on few secondes hurts :( x_x

cheers :D

You could resolder all those connections that broke and replace that cap, but it might do it again next time you tried it :P .

so i got a 220v-110v converter,

Don't you mean 60Hz -> 50Hz converter?

No he's talking about a converter for the power supply.
Europe is 220v and the Laseractive is 110v , so you need a stepdown converter.

That power supply looks identical to the supply from my (now deceased) CLD-D406 Laserdisc player. Mine died for no reason at all, but I'd say your's had a very good reason.

A friend of mine that works at a repair shop informed me that Pioneer doesn't sell whole replacement parts like this anymore; everything has to be component-level troubleshooted. Maybe this has changed since, but if not your only recourse is to repair the damaged board or try to find a comparable supply from another Pioneer LD player.

I hope it's simply a language barrier that caused you to use the word "resistor" in place of what should be "capacitor", or you've got a long way to go in troubleshooting this yourself ;)

yes certainly about language :D , english is just 2nd school language

but i found infos on a dedicated Laserdiscs players bbs, if anyone has same troubles.. Pioneer sells the power output,

power supply for a CLD-A100. the part number on the
board should be DWR1156. It has been substituted by DWR1196, which is
available from Pioneer US @ $122.50. The foil fractures look a little to
severe to try and repair with any confidence.

i figure i will "try" to fix the board.. and try too change the capacitor, that would be a premiere for a noobz like me :P
