Got ahold of Legend of Kage and upon starting it I immediately "recognized" the music as sound very much like that of System 3's The Last Ninja (track 4 on the HVSC archive's SID). Specifically the cycling tone. Doesn't sound like much to see what I've written, but check it out and you'll see what I mean! Apparently Legend of Kage was released in 1986 and The Last Ninja in 1987, but even if it was inspired by the Legend of Kage track, The Last Ninja song is so much better that it's not funny (The Last Ninja has some of the best oldschool game music around, period).

For those who don't have access to the HVSC (needs to be de-TARred twice, it likes to hang Windows), there's a pretty good remix of the Last Ninja track in question here (http://bart.overclocked.org/mix.php?song=armafall). Needs headphones with good bass repsonse though. For the HVSC and sidplay, go here (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/5147/sidplay/). That's worth checking out even if you don't care about this topic!
