...arcade game you played?

Having 25 games at my house, you might assume it was one I owned. Nope! Dropped a quarter into a Galaga machine just yesterday!

How about you? If you own one at home, tell us about the last one you played in public!

Last one I played at home is Moon Patrol. Trying to master the champion course so I can flip the game twice on 1 credit. Pretty close too! I get at least halfway through the second time around now.

Last game in public... Probably was during CGE. Made a trip out to the Dave & Busters in San Jose. No telling what game it was, but probably Police 911 or Mocap Boxing.

Metal Slug 4..

Feel free to expound; where did you play it, what were you doing, who were you with, and most importantly, how did you do? :)

I went with a bunch of friends to Harley Davidson's for lunch. The restaurant actually has a name, but it's a restaurant that sits on top of a Harley motorcycle shop. When we got up there, I was thrilled to see two classic cabinets (and I mean classic -- they looked old!) -- Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga!

Of course everyone I came with groaned. When they're with me and we see an arcade game, they know to hide the quarters! It was okay though, I brought my own!

Last game I played at home was Turbo Outrun, I was fixing it since someone didn't know how to when they screwed up the steering :P ... in public would technically have been Gals Panic 2, since I bought that at an auction and tested it out before putting it in the truck, but last one I actually paid for... hmm, I think Golden Tee at the bar a couple weeks ago.

When The Man says you gotta go... I played Ferrari F355 Challenge and some pistol game today. The F355 was pretty fun with stickshift, clutch and all. Too bad all the other games in the hall sucked.

I know a place with the new OutRun but it's over an hours drive away. Just trying to figure out some other business to do back there to make it worthwile.

I was visiting my usual NES dealers, when I noticed a few arcade machines sitting in a row in the mall. So I approached them and was surprised to see that one of them was a neo geo. This was the first time I saw a neo geo in the wild in over 7 years!

Being a huge metal slug fan, I was shocked to see MS4 on it (never seen/played it before). So a couple quarters later I felt great about it!

I walked away sad and happy. Happy to see Neo's still out there making a few bucks. Sad to see the condition the machine was in. The buttons & joystick were sticking, and the monitor was begging for a cap kit + tuneup.

As you can imagine, when I got home.. my search for MS4 for mame started. ;)

The last arcade game I played was Dance Dance Revolution.

The last "traditional" arcade game I played was the Galaga side of a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga combo cab. I didn't do too bad, made it to Level 12 (which is about as far as I can go before I die many horrible deaths).

I went to my local arcade last night. They had been closed for the summer since sometime in April or May and just re-opened. There's a classics corner there that was lots of fun. I played, Asteroids, Super Pac-Man, Crysal Castles, Donkey Kong, Frogger, The Simpsons, Galaga, Mario Brothers, WWF SuperStars. Good times :) The six player X-Men was still broken though. Tempest was MIA, but I saw it and other games off to the side. Hopefully they aren't broken and will be available for play soon. I'm thinking I should ask someone there if they have new owners or something. I didn't recognize any of the guys working there last night. It's funny that I have a few of those cabs that I played there, but I guess it's just something about being at an arcade. :D

I had a week off and I went to Seattle to visit family and friends last week. During the trip, we went to Shorty's, a bar known for its pinball and video games. It's the only place in Seattle or around Chicago that I can find with any games anymore (not including Golden Tee).

I played Robotron on that Robotron/Joust combo cabinet. (The Robotron/Joust cabs are alright, but I've got a problem with the Namco anniversary cabs...continuing on Ms. Pac-Man sort of defeats the purpose of playing in my opinion.) I also played some Big Buck Hunter with my friend.

Also, they had the new Eugene Jarvis game there, Operation Terror or something like that. It was just a remake of Area 51 with better animation, but it was probably pretty fun. I didn't try it, though.

I don't actually own a cab, YET.

However i do have a nice supergun set up, and i warm up my 2 slot every night after work for an hour or so. Last night i played the path of the warrior: art of fighting 3. Don't know if that really counts since it's not a cab, but is an arcade game. Guess i'm just a poser.

Last game I played was DDR in a movie theater where I had gone to solely to get a strawberry/banana smoothie (in that theater, the restaurants are right at the entrance, so you don't have to get a movie ticket to go in). I don't remember which version of DDR it was, but the left pad was damaged (the back button wouldn't respond, which isn't too practical in a game of DDR). And I didn't fare too, too well. I'm too out of shape and it's been too long since my last DDR game... I guess I oughta plug back my Konamix or Disney DDR game into my PS1.

Before that, the last arcade game I played was Guitar Freaks in a crummy little mall arcade. This time, it was the guitar controllers that worked more or less properly. I couldn't even get it to acknowledge the code to switch the guitar to left-handed mode! Anyway, I really, really sucked at Guitar Freaks, I find it harder to hit the note at the right time. And it's even more challenging when you have to play in reverse order.

Last actual arcade game I played, I dunno, maybe SF3 Third Strike? (I only own MK2, it's been awhile since I played that)

Last arcade PCB I played, Last Blade 2.

Criminally, it's a real rarity to find any coin-ops around here, other than the retro cocktail cabs that have popped up everywhere in pubs over the last couple of years.
I think the last proper one I played was House of the Dead at a bowling alley next door to where I used to live, but I did drop 50p into Galaga cocktail a month or two back.

Would you believe...Kickman? LOL

Outside of my game room, however, I believe the last arcade game I played was at OKGE in September - and I'm pretty sure it was this beautifully preserved specimen of GORF.

Let's just say the robots digitally whooped up on my equally digital ass. Been a looooong time since I played Gorf, and boy did it show.

And yes, wherever I go, if there's a classic arcade machine there, even if it's a Frankenstein mosnter of a conversion cabinet, I endeavour to take a photo of it.

Well...last arcade game I played was Magic Sword on my Neo Geo, since it conveniently has a JAMMA harness. Last arcade game I played outside of the one I own...guess it would have been Computer Space at CGE.

Last one at home was Robotron.

Last one in public was one of those Pacman/Gallaga deals. I went to see Dawn of the Dead at tincil town. I played Pacman just to see if it differed from my original.. It seemed to, but most likely because I was in public. :) It was kind of like one of those dreams you have when your naked in public.. Anyway I don't remember my score, but I believe I made it to the 6th key then I had to quite as the movie was going to start soon and my was getting rather annoyed with my trash talking to the machine.

VS. Excitebike last night at my house. I just picked it up on Sunday and am in play mode only. At some point I'll have to do a little restoration on the beatup cabinet, but right now I'm just relishing in owning an arcade cab.

Awesome dude, nice score! It killed me to get rid of my Excitebike cab as that's one of my favorite games of all time, but the damn vs. cabinet simply would not fit through my door!

Two football players and myself got it in, but it took some work. I almost thought about taking the trim off the door. I'm still hoping to find a way to get it into the basement, but for now it is happily hanging out upstairs.
