I love the way the issue refers to Howard Phillips as a "professional video gamesman." Why didn't that phrase ever catch on?
And on a related note, why doesn't anyone ever sell the first issue of GameFan?

It has been stored in a book for over 10 years now so it still is in really great condition.
That's how I store all my valuables!

The second one went for $153.50 .... bought by the same guy who paid $1000+ for the first one.
These auctions show how unreliable Ebay is for estimating value. 2 people without the patience or foresight to wait for another copy to come along can drive prices up to absurd levels. Nintendo Fun Club # 1 is rare, but not $1000 rare.
