The local toys R us has 4 factory sealed copies of Rez. They are selling them at 69.99 [canadian]. Is this worth it?

I woould pick up a copy to keep sealed. The re-realese will be different, and not completly the same as the first.

Who said the re-release is going to be different than the original?

I'm having so much fun with my import copy plus JPN vibrator...
pity they didn't released the vibrator for DC otherwise it would've been perfect... :p

I'd say if you want to play get it...
personally I don't collect games for value but enjoyment although I have number of sealed titles due to lack of play time lately...

Anyone know when the rerelease is coming out anyway? I've never played the original release and would really like to try it. I just hope it doesn't have a "Greatest Hits" branding on it. For a quirky title, I'd much rather have a non crappy cover. And since I never see any other copies anywhere even used, I fear that's the only one I'd ever see.

Not that it matters anymore, but I owned an original copy of Rez before I sold it along with my PS2. Great game/artistic experience, but it lacks replayability.

I saw those same Rez copies at TRU for that price a few months ago and went ahead and bought it. Of course I didn't *know* about the re-release at the time so take that for what you want.

(I have to admit I was kinda pissed. Yeah it could be worth something, but I *hate* paying $70 for a game that's been out for *years* - TRU never drops their prices and goddamm it I let them get away with it...)

Hmmmmm....

I think you should check those TRU prices a little closer. I live in Winnipeg, and bought 2 copies of Rez for 19.99 (on sale) just last week. I will Ebay one, and keep the other.

They were marked as 69.99, but when I went to the counter with one, the clerk said it was actually only 29.99, and wait!! On sale that week for 19.99!!
Anyways, he also stock transfered me one copy in from Kitchener, which I should have soon. When I asked about my transfer though, the manager said since then, they have quit doing video game transfers due to internal theft!?!? I'll get this one, but no more.

Who said the re-release is going to be different than the original?

I am not saying the actual game will be different, but the box art, or something will be.

who cares if it is gh when rereleased. if i remember right, you can only buy virtua fighter 4: evo in america as gh. i preordered my copy of evo and got it the day it was released, and it had a gh banner on it. it is still the same game inside, so enjoy the game, and not the banners :)

Unfortunately I can't seem to get over it :) If I could I'd buy a copy of FV4E and Pac-Man Vs (GC) but I haven't been able to convince myself just yet

(Lame I know - but not less real because of it).

Back on topic:

$70 CND is a bit high, IMHO. Rez is a unique game and pretty dang fun, but it is lacking in the replay departement.

FYI: $70 was pretty much on par for a new game in these here parts when Rez was launched. Maybe even on the cheaper side by 5 or $10 bucks. San Andreas is $65 now so $70 isn't *terrible*

(And yes, this is me justifying the purchase to myself :D ).

Right. I just meant I feel the game isn't quite worth $70 to me. Sorry, I should have been clearer about that. Maybe I misunderstood the question?

No need to apologize. All these conversion rates make my brain hurt :)
