You know, I usually toss these things into a collection pile somewhere. Especially the DVD demos, where there's nothing to play and you get a trailer or two or maybe some "in game" footage. -_-

But I gotta tell you, the Gradius V DVD demo was really great. Not only does it give you a complete walkthrough of the game (played by someone who simply doesn't get killed) but it has a really nice "history" section where you can view every Gradius and pre-Gradius inspiration (I never considered Scramble one of them, but there you have it) in action as well, along with a number of intro sequences from the various CD-based games over the years.

Well worth 20 minutes of your time, and if you're a Gradius fan, you'd BETTER seek this out.

It's definitely worth it, if only for the Parodius footage! Granted, the guy who is actually playing all those games does not seem to be incredibly talented. But what can ya do?

This DVD alone made me want to seek out Sexy Parodius.

Someone burn one for me.

They didn't have any when I bought the game.

I was amazed by the crazy high scores you can get in that game, watching those vids.

Definitely the best bonus disc I've ever seen, except maybe the WindWaker one...

Sounds like a demo disc finally done right. I have to get one of those since I'm a huge Gradius fan since the NES days. I have to ask some employees in gamestores for it.

Yeah, same here. At my Gamestop, those stupid asses gave the bonus discs away to people that *didn't* pre-order, so most of the people that were supposed to get them didn't.

Does anyone have the Japanese Gradius DVD? I guess it shows the entire game being played thru, instead of just selected stages like the US disc. Supposed to have a bunch of other extras on it too.

Sucks that some of you folks didn't get yours correctly. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about the DVDs, since they were for a pre-order yet they weren't available until AFTER the game came out!

The Gradius history footage is great, but I thought that Stage playthroughs were lacking. I found myself cringing frequently as the player took unecessary risks. And it was kind of a cheap tactic that the guy was using stage select and playing each stage independently. Hell, anyone can do that!

I've personally played up to stage 5 on the second loop of the game on one credit (high score of 3.1 million, boo ya!). So from a personal standpoint, that playthrough video was anticlimactic.

I don't remember everything it has on it but there's definitely an interview with the developers. It's in Japanese of course so I can't make out shit what they're talking about. :/

I got today the DVD Gradius disc, just walked into a Gamestop and asked for it.

The history section with all Japanese Gradius games ever released (includes Life Force, Salamander, and Parodius games) is great. For the first time I saw actually the various Parodius games in action instead of just screenshots.

Great dics, thanks for the info, I'd have missed out on that one.

Is there any chance you can get more?

My local EB where I pre-ordered the game never got any in, and the other EB and a GameStop I checked never got any either. :(

When I'm there the next time, I'll ask for it. Unfortunately, I hardly know the guys anymore who work there. They had in the last three months a MAJOR exchange in personnel, before that I knew every one of them and was on very friendly terms. I was surprised that I got one.

I'll ask for sure, though. If I get one, you'll get it.

Allright, thank you.

I've been keeping a eye on EBay also and have'nt seen one pop up there yet either.

To anyone else, if you can get one, I'll either pay or trade for it.
