I never heard of these systems until i pulled out an old issue of egm 2 the other day. THey were supposed to come out at the same time the playstation and saturn did. Bandai's seem to have videos of DBZ in their games. NEC's seem to be 32 bit but didn't have polygon technology. Obviously they never came here but did they ever come out in Japan?

Yes, both systems were released in Japan. The Playdia had a short life and a small library of unremarkable FMV and Edutainment titles, though that Gundam learning game might be interesting.
The PC-FX came out in 1995 and lasted a bit longer. It received a few decent games but most of its offerings are marginally interactive anime titles.
