Sex in video games or video game violence, which subject?

I'm doing a report in English class and I have to pick a "controversial" topic for this paper.

I've narrowed it down to "sex in video games" and "Video game violence" but i havent figured out which i'd like to do more.

I had attempted VG Violence in the past (for a different class) to results i was less than thrilled with.

So I ask my fellow gamers, which subject make a better topic and which would have sources easier to find?

"sex in video games" will be more interesting. I donno how hard or easy it will be to find material though.

it will be very easy to find material for violence in video games, but someone already posted, sex would be cooler.

if you want an easy topic, you might as well go for violence, as i guarentee you can find a buttload of info on it

I think violence in videogames has been beaten to death (pun intended) so to me sex would be more interesting. If it were me though I would do the report on the physical and educational pros of video gaming, because so many people have a stereotypical view of the fat lazy, dim witted gamer.

how about Sex, in a video game..... pull out some LSL or Custer's Last Stand. Get some screen shots and stuff, play some music.... boom chicka wow wow.... ahhhh yeah.... :snuggle:

Sex in videogames has evolved quite a bit. From old Leisure Suit Larry and Golgo 13 to GTA Vice City type stuff has been a pretty good stretch. Custer's Last Stand...damn, didn't even think of that. All those X-rated (M? A? LOL ) atari games could be good shit for a report.

Also, the Japanese have had hentai games by the boatloads....remember the NES games too: Bubble Bath Babes, Hot Slots...

I think sex in games would be cool to do...but i'm sort of at a loss as to how to do this. I'm just worried that I won't be able to find enough info for "sex in games"


Obviously i'm not going to badmouth video games because they are a fun hobby...but....

the last time i tried to do something with the game violence subject i really got caught up in trying to say a bunch of different things all at once and that came out a complete mess. I suppose i shouldnt be so concerned as this time i get a full ten pages to expand upon my subject.

Go with sex, and focus on the differences in Japanese and American cultures- in Japan, sex and nudity are much more prevalent in games.

A good way to write any paper is to get a focused topic.

Take for example your violence approach. It most likely came out as a mess because you had too much to say. You could have narrowed it down to hand-to-hand fighting such as Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, etc .. or you could have narrowed it down to a mofia/gangster theme.

I think a cool topic would be the evolution of sex in video games over the past 20 years starting with the old Atari stuff, moving into NES and other systems, and finally ending with today's NextGen stuff.
