A friend recently pointed me to this online game. Very odd, very unique. Basically, it's a text based online RPG, free to play, lots of players but you can choose to play by yourself and don't have to interact with them. It's like a turn based RPG where you get a set number of turns per real-time day and then go out and adventure.
It's incredibly unique in the fact that it basically makes fun of nearly everything in society, is absolutely bizarre and nonsensical, and really kinda fun. I played it the other day in the afternoon for the first time and at first it's quite slow, and if you play after about 2 PM on until around 11ish it's REALLY slow due to the overload on the servers (over 200K players). It's blazing fast in the morning though!
Anyway, the main currency in the game is meat. Yes...meat. As in "I smell some money rotting in that dumpster outside the restaurant" meat. And there are meatsmiths that forge you weapons and clothing from meat too! Anyway, I thought it was really fun, and anyone looking for a bit of online offbeat fun should check it out! Currently I'm a Level 4 "Chord Horker" Accordian Thief. The other classes to choose from are: Seal Clubber, Pastamancer, Disco Bandit, Turtle Tamer, Sauceror, and of course, Accordion Thief! I've collected items so far such as cottage cheese, a bum cheek (yes the ass cheek of a vagrant), an asparagus knife (made from an empty can of asparagus), a "sweet ninja sword", a "cool whip", a viking hat, and many other ubiquitous items. There are literally thousands of neat items too, with many bizarre and strange functions. Oh yeah...and all the artwork is done in stick figure too! Woot!
