I've got a Vectrex mini-cade that I would like to sell, and thought I'd rather give Buying & Selling a try rather than going the eBay route... I'd like to see a forum member get it. This is a "miniature"-sized arcade cabinet with a Vectrex unit housed inside. It looks like the small arcade games you see on countertops at bars. Apparently there weren't a whole lot of these made, and as of right now, there are only eight accounted for. I was fortunate enough to find four of them, and I've already sold and traded three of them. I'd like to sell my remaining one for $575, firm. If you are interested, please either post here or email me at k8track{@}lycos.com (remove the braces). I can email you pictures as well.

Being a gamer since 1979, I thought I knew it all about classic gaming. Well let me admit that I have never heard of a Vectrex Mini-Cade. I guess I am still learning something new every day.

Gaahh!! Someone bumped a 19 year old thread! I was informed this was a very bad thing to do, but alas, 2 months have gone by and no one has pointed out how crazy this is. I am so confused right now!

Well Flack bumped it to reply to a sale thread for a specific item listed and Zap! added something of value to this thread, I've never seen a picture of what one looked like so that's a nice addition. Thanks for posting it Zap!

You are showing bias toward a veteran member for doing something as equally bad as what I did. There's literally no more value in what I did versus what he did. This is pretty obvious considering the cringey praise you're putting on him contrasting with all your negative and contrarian posts that are scattered everywhere else.

and honestly no wonder it's a ghost town here. I think it's because of people like you with your elitist attitude. I've heard a lot of people say that the game collecting community is very unwelcoming and snobby and it's this kind of crap that drives away newcomers to the hobby. So after being here for 8 years and hoping it would turn around, I just dont see it changing. When you ask for help on Facebook collecting groups, people are happy to help you, no one sits there and argues or threatens to ban you. so at this point I dont get care if I get banned here for speaking my mind. There are way too many damn options for collector communities for me to put up with the idiotic and contradictory rules here that only seem to apply to people that the mods don't like.

LOL

Look what happened when those replies were made, they were basically just ignored. Flack is clearly just asking if the OP is still around in a cheeky way, as it's obvious they've been on the forum from around the same time. Still basically ignored. Zap! posts a comment related directly to the main topic, which is centered on video games, and it's entirely ignored. Then you post a whiney, butthurt response just to complain that these posters weren't being harassed enough for their posts, because you're still upset at how people responded to you bumping up an old random thread on masturbation. Of course with that attitude I had a slight dig at you.

Even with that other thread you bumped, you weren't completely ignored, and nobody actually gave you any shit until you misinterpreted a post with a slight joking comment, and then you started complaining, which started people giving you those replies. It was a topic on porn and masturbation, what type of replies were you expecting? It wasn't even meant as a joke thread originally, it was just one asking for practical advice. Did you bump that expecting tons of praise?

And there are plenty of newcomers to the hobby, that's why prices are exploding now. I don't care really, it's just a hobby so I don't take it too seriously. New collectors seem to endlessly praise games as though they're all irreplaceable works of art, all of vast historical significance. It's just taken too seriously now. I don't like how the hobby is generally treated now.

Wait, were you asking for help in that thread?

I'd like to know if this issue was ever resolved, 8 years later. Did the son grow up to be a porn addict who never moved out of his parents basement? Or is he now a fortune 500 CEO?
This was you asking for legitimate help? Did we misinterpret your post and you have an actual porn addiction that you're battling?

All that salt over a minor ribbing, I almost confused you for Edmond Dantes.
On the off chance you really do need this spelled out for you and aren't just being passive aggressive over a nothingburger, this thread is about selling an expensive item that might be still available since the sale wasn't listed. Even as a super old thread, it's not that big an issue since we don't know and it's directly related to the hobby. And we got an archival image out of it, so there is a net benefit. Now, if it was the most effective way to contact a likely long gone member, that's another discussion. Compare this to the thread you bumped and maybe, just maybe, you'll notice the difference.

More to the point, as I put it to you in the other thread, "am I adding anything to this thread beyond vapid 'hey me too!' posting". Directly asking the status of an item doesn't strike me as 'hey me too!', or at least not as much as randomly asking about a teens masturbation rituals. Or, as I also said in the other thread, you're being a dork about nothing for no reason.
