I just picked up the Suffering for PS2 and was very surprised at how much I enjoy this game I think it was way underrated by most of the gaming mags and online.
It has good graphics a slightly interesting (even if cliche ala max payne) storyline and very cool creatures that were created in large part by stan winston studios
I really like the whole "vibe" and feeling of the game.
anyway thats my 2 cents

It started out good I thought, but then I quickly went into "MEH!" mode with it. I haven't picked it up in months.

Sorta agree. This game is DISTURBING to me, BUT they screwed up. This coulda been one of the best horror games ever made IF they woulda toned down the combat. There is just WAY too much combat. Blowing away 50 creatures in a row with a gatling gun is NOT scary.

Manhunt was really good, and it's supposed to be similar to The Suffering. Was pretty gross at some points, but the gameplay was great. I hadn't really played stealth games before it, and it really hooked me. It didn't need the gore, the gameplay was just plain solid. I'm glad they put some stealth missions in San Andreas.
It starts out a little slow and a lot of people thought it got repetitive. But if you actually play it and unlock new weapons and such, it really becomes a great game!
I recently bought Red Dead Revolver. Just like the stealth games before I played Manhunt, I'm not big on westerns, but just love Rockstar Games, so I had to get it. I haven't played it yet as San Andreas keeps me busy, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
I've found more than ever that games often need to be given a good chance. Many do start out slow, but once you get through a few levels, they really start to pick up.
